Is it bad to have a subwoofer a few inches from your computer case?

I know if I had my SVS PC Ultra next to my PC it would damage it :(, but as everyone said a normal sub should have no effect. My SVS can hit Dolby reference level at 20hz without even sweating. Sub placement near a corner in your room is ideal as the bass has more effect.

so a friend is trying to revive a packard bell pc......

CPU's life expectancy is only 10 years and since Cyrix overclock their chips at the factory to run faster, the PC was living on borrowed time. In the old days I had a Cyrix P166 which was clocked at 133mhz that ran warm enough to heat my coffee. Best thing to do is to sell it on Ebay as a boat...

I really enjoy this review for the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II where the reviewer compared them to a $156,756 Genesis system. Although I believe the review is a joke, he does present some good points on audio design and sound quality. Soundsticks II vs. Genesis

Favorite hardware of all time

Trying to justify building a system rathan than going OEM

Don't forget about tax when you buy anything local as that extra 5% to 8%+ really adds up when your buying high dollar items. If I was going to buy an OEM machine, I would hang out on deal websites like gotapex and wait for a good coupon deal for a high end machine.

How Many Are Using XP64?

How is the compatibility for games? Any issues with video card drivers from Nvidia or ATI? I just ordered the parts to build my Athalon 64 3500+ and was considering the possibility of running Windows 64. The only thing that scares me is the lack of compatibilty for games and apps.
