WOOHOO!!!! I DID IT!!!

I get about 4500 with my X800 GT overclocked to 560/526, about 3900 without the overclock. (default 3dmark05 settings) This is with no other components overclocked.

If you use that dual gpu 7800 card with the external power connection, then there is no need for a large wattage power supply, unless of course you also had multiple dual-core processors. :D Of course, that would make it so your pc has 4 more power connections to plug in. ;)

That would require a larger than normal motherboard size, wouldn't it? ;) Haha, with that and 4 dual-core processors, then you would have 8 cpu's and 8 gpu's. :D That would require a massive power supply... Probably beyond 1000 Watts. :Q It's a good thing that card uses external power. ;)...

Chip Support for EP-9NPA+ Ultra

This board will probably end up supporting every socket 939 processor that is ever made; it definately supports all current ones at least. I think EPoX has been pretty quick to get in support for new cpu's in the bios, too.

Don't install nVidia's IDE drivers.

It's very easy; just go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> nVidia Drivers. From there, just tell it to remove the IDE drivers. After you do that, it will have you restart then the MS drivers will be used after that.

What about the EPoX nForce4 SLI board? Still lower cost than that other one and I've heard that it may actually overclock even better than their Ultra board. It was also mentioned that it has no parallel port, though; although if you need one, you can just get a usb adaptor. ;)

Well, actually, all you really need for the Venice core is the 3/22/05 BIOS for Venice core (or maybe even the one before that). I was using that one for a month before the 6/29/05 release. As far as I know, the only reasons you would need anything newer than that is for dual-core support...

According to AnandTech's review on nForce4 Ultra boards (don't have the link right now), you can boot with an X2 as long as the board is able to boot with something like a Winchester or Venice core, IIRC. Is that true in all cases or only some? BTW, I have a Venice core cpu and was able to...

I have the 7000 (with the 92 mm fan) and it fits just fine; I can even still remove the power connections and memory while it is in place. I don't know about the 7700, though (with the 120 mm fan), but I do know that there is still room with the 7000. If you want to check compatibility, one...

New BIOS for EP-9NPA+Ultra Released

I've been using the new bios since two or three days ago and have had no problems so far. I like that it adds support for more memory speeds. Maybe I'll get some faster memory sometime. ;) Maybe this OCZ 1 GB DDR600 dual-channel kit...
