Gaming LCD

most people claim that 2-3ms refresh rates make the best gaming monitors, but I honestly disagree. I think my MVA panel is rated at 8-9ms and I don't notice any type of lag. I'd rather have better colors, viewing angles, and image quality than a couple milliseconds

What am I doing wrong?

Radeon HD 3850 vs. HD Radeon 4830?

I'm very happy with my 4830 so far. It's ran every game I've thrown at it with ease at 1920x1200 with max settings Tomb Raider Legend, C&C 3, TF2

Crossfire setup

I'm disappointed about this. 2 different video cards and none of them included the bridge. I've never done this before and have no idea how it works. I have both of my 4830's installed right now, but obviously it's not working. What do I need to get this working at the cheapest price? Asus...

Stupid question here

I'm trying not to wait for them. I know shipping will take until next week for one. I'm asking if the SATA cables, that comes with (branches off) the power supply, will power up my hard drive? I don't understand how this would work though because there's nothing going to the motherboard...

Stupid question here

The cheapest one I can find B&M is 19.99. I was hoping to get this thing working ASAP! I thought my motherboard may have came with a SATA cable, but open boxes from Newegg are hit and miss, and I missed!

despite what everyone is saying I think it's going to be a very good monitor for the price. Majority of the reviews are good with a few bad ones scattered in there. I picked one up too, but can't test it until next Wednesday.

I'm not sure which route to take. I can't find any benchmarks that compare the two. My friend is getting rid of one of his HD4830's for $70 and I can buy one currently for $85 AR, so I'd be looking at around $155 total or I was considering an HD4870 which I'm seeing for about $50 more than the...

Trying to make a build here, picked up a really good deal on an HD4830, so I'm debating on picking up another one. I'm gonna be picking up an E7400 and OC it, so the board needs decent overclocking abilities and crossfire supported. It will be a heavy gaming machine...

well, I went with the Dell. I had the same build before and was happy with it with a lower end video card. The CPU and HD almost make it worth the value as it is. I forgot if I bought a barebones I'd have to go out and buy a keyboard and mouse too, so that'd be another $50 on top of it and...

yeah, I don't have very much information on the foxxconn board, just going by Newegg reviews, which seemed to be fairly positive about the overclocking abilities of the board. My budget is fairly tight, actually this is much more than the original plan of $400 excluding monitor. I'm trying...

there's a tape mod (covering up a pin) that actually increases the FSB of the system on the Dell bringing it to 3.0ghz. I actually owned the system in the past, but sold it off and did this very same mod to it. It's going to be mainly for gaming, maybe the occasional photoshop or watching...

well, to start, one is a Dell Inspiron 530 - Core 2 Quad. I can get it for about $375 shipped, but it needs a video upgrade which is going to cost $100 extra, so looking at $475 shipped. I was piecing together an E7400 build on Newegg for $510 shipped after MIR's. I'm not sure which route...

Internet keeps cutting out

Here's the setup, hopefully someone is familiar with Vonage. I have everything running to Vonage, then Vonage relays the internet to my wireless router and it goes from there. I'm getting a perfect signal strength, no problems with that. It works great when I'm browsing or downloading...

ok, here's the big one I beleive there is a conflict between my network card - abit airpace (PCI-E x1) and video card x1950 pro (PCI-E x16). Computer boots fine when I take the network card out, if it's in there, it can take up to 10 tries to get the thing to boot. Typical boot gives me 1...

what's going on here? It just popped up when I removed my old network card (PCI express x1). I had to remove it because it was conflicting with my video card, so maybe someone has a reason for that? I'd like to still use it, but it's nothing but a headache when it's installed. It's an Abit...

after HOURS and hours. I finally got my video card working. I can't get my wifi working for the life of me. I simply don't understand how to install tar.gz files. Not only that, the creating packages thing confuses me to death. I'm really debating if this is for me... I love the interface...

I did, but it says no ATI card is recognized obviously it's working or else I would get video on the screen sometimes it works normal (right now for an example). Although I did still have 2 beeps are start up about 5 times in a row, then it finally booted normally.

I am running a E4300 @ 3.0ghz. I just recently took down the OC to 1.8ghz and that didn't fix anything. It still does the beeps at the start up (really fast 2 beeps) or 1 beep and the display loads up, but in windows there are no video drivers loaded and ATI catalyst says no ATI device found...

why is my memory so low scoring?

I give up on this. even at 350x9 (3.1x ghz) I am not even seeing it budge. It's still stuck at 5.0

it is a 2.66 mutliplier. I just tried to run your settings, started by running at 430x2 with a 6 multiplier and every boot attempt it would just reset itself to "CPU HOST CONTROLLER - DISABLED" so I'd lose my overclock. This is less of an overclock than before... I don't get it. I put it back...
