I had a couple on my wishlist to watch prices until I could afford one, and they were "deactivated". That worried me. Plus it seems like a low amount of them available to me so I thought maybe AMD was having supply issues.
My DFI DK P45 died. Bought a ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo to replace it. Looked around the net and can't really find any BIOS guide for settings. This is my first non DFI board since the old NF2 days. So I'm very familiar with the Award BIOS's they use. The AMI BIOS that ASUS uses is very different...
Not sure if I voided it, but I'm not returning it. Worst case I will just run it stock. It's already factory OC'ed to 815 core 925 memory. I just wanted it cooler than it was.
Used Arctic Silver Ceramique and OCZ freeze. I tried more compound last time and still it goes over 100C. Its just so odd stock load under Furmark Was 80C.
Picked up a ASUS DK TOP 4870 and the temps are a little high. Tried OCing a little and it crashed. I have an old Arctic cooling S1 laying around so I picked up a couple of 2000RPM 100mm fans and put on it and installed it on the 4870. This dropped my stock idle temps from 55C to 43C. Not bad I...
It would be a nice little device even with 802.11b speeds with a nice browser. Shame Sony hasn't seen fit to release a new browser for the PSP. So how do you use Google's mobile service on a PSP?
Got bored the other day. Picked up my son's psp and connected it to my wireless router. This thing is so slow. Anyway to speed it up? Are there any different browsers for a psp?
Thanks for the reply. I tried both. Turns out it was DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer released last month. Hit yes enough times and it finally installed all the DirectX update. Then the game finally installed.
My hard drive died. I replaced it and reloaded windows. Now I can not install Empire: Total War. I receive a security alert telling me "The installed INF file does not contain digital signature information." It asks me if i want to install this driver software yes or no. If i choose yes it pops...
I have an old airlink AR-504. It was inexpensive years ago and it works. I have a home network with 3 desktops and a laptop. My stepson likes to stream cartoon network. This could be bad.
I have Time Warner Cable. I live in a Dallas Texas suburb. They haven't implemented caps here yet, but I'm sure they will. Now I'm trying to make sure I understand the cap. If it's 40GB that's 40GB of data up and down? Then I pay extra? That isn't much data. If that's what they are doing I'm...
True. Usually I can post on OCZ's forums and they will tell me what timings to run. I just didn't get a very detailed response there like I'm used to. Usually they will tell me all the settings on my DFI boards. This time I was told to set NB voltage to1.4-1.45V and tRFC to 55 cycles. That was...
I have 2 sets of OCZ2P800R22GK which is basically 4x 1GB sticks of DDR2 800. How much will this limit my overclock on my E8400? I know 4 sticks won't OC as good as 2. Should I step up to DDR2 1000 or 1066? I will be putting this in a DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS. If I'm reading the guides correctly...
Well I didn't mean to imply that 3.6 is "crappy". I was just saying OCing "is a crapshoot". In other words one might get 3.4 or 4.0 Only way to find out is to "roll the dice" and see what you can get that little piece of silicon to do. But i want 3.8 or higher :) So I was trying to see if I...
Well I'll just roll the dice. Microcenter here in Dallas has one for $99. I have a DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS to drop it in. OCing is always a crapshoot anyway.
So how can i determine the stepping short of having it in a system and running a utility to check it? Any post out there on that and which steppings are better?
Appreciate the quick reply. I'm thinking about getting one so I was curious what info I could garner from the box at the store. I'm hoping I could get one and run it at 400MHz. seems like that might be asking a bit much at reasonable Vcore levels.
What info can you get form looking at the processor in the box? I see where VID is important for OCing, but I believe you have to have the processor in a system and use a utility to read it. Is there any useful info on the box? Haven't dealt with Intel for years. AMD processors have stepping...
I have an older Tivo with an 80G drive I'd like to just pop in a new one but I know I need the info on the old one to get service. Anyone know how to copy the info over to a new drive?
Well I just went ahead and put it in without any heatsinks on the memory. I benched it at stock. Now I'm using Rivatuner to oc it. I tried only the core and my scores drop across the board. I find that odd. Anyone know of a good guide on how to oc an 8800GT?
Memory tweaking with all the settings on this board can be tough. I think. I had a few issues when I upgraded to two sticks of 1GB OCZ. Luckily I just got on the OCZ forums and within an hour tech support had replied with the the settings for me to use. Thats why I'm an OCZ fanboy. That and any...
Glad to hear such good things about this board. I never jump on the latest thing so I don't really mind DFI being late as long as they produce great products like they do. Of course I am a DFI fanboy.
Think I'll pick up an E2160 at Microcenter. They have it for $69.99 I'll get a E8400 later...
I imagine you will get a lot of opinions on mixing RAM. While I'm not a fan. I've done it. IMO just put it in, set to Auto, and use Memtest to check stability. Start tweaking from there. It's great to have Memtest in the BIOS of your board. Use it.
I'm moving to this from a DFI NF4 board also. I'm still deciding on a processor. I want an E8400, but the premium is very high right now. I may stick with an E21xx for now and get an E8400 later.
I just purchased the DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS. I thinks its a better buy than the Blood Iron board. I purchased at Motherboardpro, but it's now available at Newegg.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813136043
Dang it!! Couldn't wait for the egg. So i purchased from motherboardpro. Cost me $10 more but thats no big deal. First time I've purchased anything from motherboardpro. Hopefully it will be a good experience. I normally purchase everything from Newegg.
I've heard really good things about DFI's P35 boards. From the Blood Iron up. They do keep releasing products late though. It seemes to be a trend with them. I don't know if that signifies their demise or not, but I certainly hope not. DFI is my MB of choice usually.
I saw the board there before, but it wasnt available when I looked. I agree though. This board looks awesome. I would think this board would be very popular.
My thoughts exactly DerwenArtos12. I want a Blood Iron and 2140 and make that little processor scream. I'd like to find the Lan Party Dk series but I haven't found them available here in the states.
I believe I'll go with the DFI board. I have had great luck with them in the past. Having owned an NF3 board and my current NF4 board. I appreciate all the input.
