Stream All Windows Audio Through LAN?

Lol, yeah, we could use lots of bluetooth head phones but we'd have to buy those :( Looks interesting. As long as the Windows client functionality works then I'm fine.

Stream All Windows Audio Through LAN?

The problem with those solutions is that you have to load the file to be watched. I'm talking about us doing something like bringing up a flash video on a website and then connecting to the network audio stream. Sure, I could load the video in VLC and connect to it, but that's a few extra...

Stream All Windows Audio Through LAN?

Is there a way to stream all windows audio through the network? We have one TV in our office and were thinking of hooking up a PC to watch videos. We want to keep the noise level down and were wondering if there was a program to stream all Windows audio to our PCs. That way, we can all watch...

I just signed up for CCENT Exam

Update: PASSED!! 832/1000, passing is 804. Make sure you answer all parts of the multipart simulators. I answered only the first part of a 4 part question and clicked next :( Luckily, that didn't get me. Also, know frame relay. There was a sim about it. . . and none of the books I read...

I just signed up for CCENT Exam

I'm taking mine on 10/3. From all the material I've seen, I don't think the test is going to be that bad. Be able to calculate any subnet addresses in less than 30 seconds, which is easy once you get the hang of it. I'm studying a little past the CCENT, or at least past what's outside my...

I Think I Just Found My Next Case

Heh, I had a feeling it would be much higher than $60-70. No way is a Lian-Li of this caliber going to be merely $60. Great toolless design, fine by me as long as the clamping mechanisms are metal and not plastic.

Looking for Mini-ITX Case with Certain Features

I've been searching for the past few days for a mini-ITX case that will accommodate at least 2x 3.5" HDDs and at the most a DC-DC PSU. Preferably, I'd like the case to be the more slim HTPC type form factor instead of boxy. My plan is to use a Pico PSU to power the components, although I...

Don't have an 8-pin PCI-E connector? Here's how to make one

So I got a 9800GX2 with 2 power connections and I didn't have an 8 pin adapter. I tried looking online to see if using 2x 6 pin connectors would be fine, but I couldn't find much. Finally I tried making an 8-pin adapter and it works perfectly! I posted the guide on my blog today, and I...

    (4) 1TB Drives in RAID 5 or (2) SSDs RAID 0?

I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. Probably going to be using a Dell Perc 5i SAS/RAID controller. I pretty much want speed and responsiveness while multitasking. One thing I'd like to be able to do is record using FRAPS at over 60 FPS (currently getting high 40's) so that I...

    Help with a registry script

Here's the situation: In our environment, we've got Cisco Clean Access in place, but at times it refuses to uninstall cleanly in order for us to update the software on client machines. To fix that, we have to manually go in and remove the registry entries left over by the Clean Access...

Merge of Xbox Live and PC gamers

I've always been wondering if PC gamers will ever get to challenge Xbox live players (or any console gamers for that matter). I just have the extreme urge to own people playing FPS's with a controller and show them the true light :). I saw a "keyboard/mouse enabled" option in the UT3 demo and...

Help with 2003 Server and .aspx pages

Well here's the deal, I have a folder of .aspx pages which I'm trying to use. They work fine when I host them on my 2003 Server virtual machine, but they will not display correctly when I move the pages to a production server. The output is the .aspx code for the page, like it hasn't been...

Can a Video Capture Device Upscale?

I have a Leadtek Winfast Novo TV device that I use to connect my XBOX to in order to play it on my LCD screen. The problem is, the XBOX outputs at low resolutions, a lot lower than the native resolution of my LCD. So my question is, can some devices upscale that signal so that it will look...

Well, I'm bored at work, everyone's on a domain and their C$ share is out there so I'd like to know where the heck I find the desktop settings file to change background images, etc. Please don't tell me desktop.ini either. . . it's not there.

802.11 B/G DUAL BAND MINI PCI INTERNAL LAPTOP WIFI CARD *NEW*

Prism 2 to be exact. Doesn't matter though, the top chipsets are Atheros, Prism 2, and Ralink. If you're gonna get one just to see how "weak" your WEP really is, don't bother. 64-bit WEPs are cracked in ~10 minutes, 128-bit WEPs are done in about 25. There's no such thing as a strong WEP.

Car audio people, need feedback on this box design

Who said I was ignoring your advice? I have actually been thinking of expanding it to 3". Alpines specs say 1.5" diameter for a slot port. I will have to snake the port down the middle and have it flare off to both sides of the box. Either that, or I'll do a 2x 1.5" ports. WinISD gives me...

Car audio people, need feedback on this box design

I already have a 12" ported 4 ft3 box in my car right now (it's a 96 accord). I want to save as much space as possible because my current box is near impossible to remove. What I mainly want to know is are my subs too close to the inner walls/outer edges of the box?

Car audio people, need feedback on this box design

Ported box (front) Ported box (top) Here's the second box I might be building for 2 12" Type-Rs. I chose 1 slot port since I have space constraints. I might be able to squeeze an inch or two in, but that's only if completely necessary. Anyways, it's tuned to 35hz (according to WinISD...

Burning 2 different DVDs at same time

Ok, I upgraded my firmware to the latest Dee's for both drives and quality has shot through the roof. I only burn 16x media at 8x. Doing 2 different DVDs at 8x takes about 17 minutes, Nero CD/DVD Speed has a quality score of 93 for the 3540 and 95 for the 3520 :D. I'm using the Office Depot...

Burning 2 different DVDs at same time

Yes the DVDs work, but high PI errors/failures. Burning a single DVD takes about 13 minutes at 4x, 9 minutes at 8x. Don't know about page file usage yet, but I'll check. The current setting for it, however, is 1536MB.

Burning 2 different DVDs at same time

When I try to do 2 at the same time, it takes an average of 20 minutes to complete both, burning at 4x. I notice the buffer meters going down to 0%, then going back up. Nero CD/DVD speed reports get kinda bad also. Using an NEC 3450A and an NEC 3520A. Burning off of 2x 160GB Hitachi SATA II...

Totally agree. I already have to pay eBay fees on items sold, so why should I have to pay more money for money recieved. I swear they rape us with those fees. A $125 item would have ~$9 to fees.

Windows Server 2003 -- better performance with dual core?

I'm thinking about migrating to server 2003 because I heard somewhere that it has better support for SMP than XP does. I remember seeing some benchmarks somewhere, but I can find em anymore. Anyone know if it is worth it? I already have a real copy BTW.

    WD-40 or silicon spray?

I did that to all of the fans/hardware inside the case. Like I said in my last post, not any one of them cause the noise. Everything put together is pretty quiet, till I put the side back on the case. It then amplifies high frequencies which result in the combination of all of the hardware...

    WD-40 or silicon spray?

Alright, I got silicon spray since I can use that for other things as well. Anyways, removing the sticker on the fan doesn't reveal the bearings. I tried to spray some on the side of the fan into the crack though. Turns out, I guess that fixed it, but my case still sounds like a sharpening...

    WD-40 or silicon spray?

I think some lube will do the trick, but if worse comes to worse, I will. I really hate dealing with RMAs unless they ship to me first and I'm not much of a modder :(

    Case recommendation

Yeah, I know about the slit, but the wiring on my fan (and a lot of others) has it sticking out of the surface of the fan just a little. That plus the just enough room for a fan in the front = stripping for me when initially sliding it in. Dynamat is a good idea, but I'd rather not.
