My parents computer doesn't have an external antenna, but it was working for almost a week when I first disabled the security settings. I have also tried my sisters computer which has a linksys wireless card with an attatched antenna. Its half the distance from the my parents computer to the...
Hello, I have been trying to resolve my home network issues for the past month, and nothing seems to be working. I currently have SBC dsl and a speedstream modem hooked up to a linksys WRT54AG wireless router. I have a wired connection to my computer, which is usually working; a wireless...
If its always flashable, or at least the clockspeeds should reach the x1800xt level I'll probably get it. Even if it doesn't it seems like it falls between the x800xl and the x1800xt while stock.
Are there any aftermarket coolers for these cards that exhaust heat out of the case, like the...
Wow, my birthday is friday and I'm seriously considering this card. How long will this deal go for, and is everyone getting the flashable versions? Also, I'll be upgrading from an x800xl and I play mostly BF2. The comparisons I've seen show the x1800xt as almost double the framerates as the...
You can obviously design bulbs that would last over 100 years for a reasonable price, whoever makes it will run out of customers pretty fast tho. Tungsten is a decent fillament material only because its so cheap and burns out at such a constant rate that they can market them perfectly...
Ya know, I bought the Silencer 5 for $30 something and the fan broke a couple months after I got it. I bought it from BluebonePC and they barely speak english there so getting it RMAed through them, as Arctic Cooling suggests, would be a pain. I have been wondering the same thing about the...
HP is doing that now, called lightscribe. quality of the image isn't too good unless you wanna spend anextra 45min burning the pic. The lightscribe discs themselves are also overpriced.
The people who have concealed carry licenses should have been around handguns enough to know how to use, take care of and be responsible for them. Its the people who pick one up at the local general store, or illegally, that don't take the time to train with them and be responsible. I don't...
I tried to enable C&Q but mbm still says 2008 Ghz and the C&Q utility doesn't show any power savings. While I'm gaming my temp spiked to 44C but thats not to bad for a passive cooler.
Very surprising but with the big typhoon heatsink, 120mm nexus in front and side, 80mm nexus in back and the 120mm fan in my psu my cpu temp is still under 30C idle with the cpu fan off. I just turned off the 120mm case fans and its staying under 35C even with the cpu fan off. Its soo quiet, I...
You have to run it maximized in windowed mode for it to let you switch without loosing your game. I too have a 19 inch crt and i use a 17 inch lcd for my browser, aim and winamp while my game is running. I lose a little bit of fps but it isn't bad conisdering i don't have dualcore yet.
Like the title says I need to get another gig. Should I spend $140 for the other 2 VX sticks and run them at 2t, or should I get some other decent 1 GB sticks for around $210?
Thanks,
Matt
Honestly my chipset is cooler with the zalman and a 120mm nexus case fan over the chipset/videocard area. It is at 40C idle, better than the "active cooling" DFI supplied. When you think about it though it is active cooling, with a much larger heatsink and fan. If you don't have ventilation...
Well if he has an ultra-d or any of that variety he can use the other 16x slot for a graphics card, or he could easily cut out a few of the pins and there would be almost no reduction in performance...
If you have a case fan over the zalman nb it will never get hot, mine doesn't get to 60 ever. If we added a huge heasink/fan with a blue led to every proocessor in the computer we would end up with this... and much worse.
Thats the worst thing that i forgot to mention about the Typhoon. Although I love the looks and very low noise. I HATE the rediculous mounting system.... It takes literally 20 - 40 min to line everything up, and screw it in. Not to mention that in most cases you have to take the mobo out...
I think it goes good with the DFI lan party series and it performs very well, keeping my overclocked athlon under 55 at max load.
By the way you can still have 4 sticks of ram if you use this rather than the xp120 and the 120mm fan is very quiet at max load.
Matt
I just set it up to do exactly that and it isnt too hard. Put battlefield in windowed mode at the next smallest resolution, then make sure the window isn't over the taskbar or it will kill performance. Use alt tab to switch in and out of the game quickly, and put your apps and browsers in the...
Most of the EMI talk/grounding is bs. On the other hand I can fully attest to the fact that dust can be very obvious. If you think that litle dings and small cracks bug you then you'll be seriously pissed with acrylic cases, cuz there are tiny cracks EVERYWHERE. I did make an acrylic case my...
Ahh, I had no idea that they engineered the crossbar ahead of time, that would end the latency issue. But the 3800 being faster than the 3200 is mostly because of the stolen CPU cycles, meaning that it is only faster per task, not a faster desing in genral right? Either way I understand the...
I think your saying two 3200s, but thats not what has me curious. How could a 3800 with the "same clockpeed and cache" as a 3200 POSSIBLY run a single threaded game as if it were faster when you don't take into account the offloading of other processes. Wouldn't the extra cpu interface...
I agree, reality shows are unrealistic drama... Thats why i don't watch them. I'd much rather have a nice informatinoal show like car and driver, or maybe an independent film, even a comedy or drama that is supposed to be unrealistic. I just dont like the idea that they make this crap up and...
You have the top of the line video card.
You won't notice an extra 5-10 FPS especially if your already doing over 100 FPS.
If the 3800 is too slow the 4200 will almost certainly be too slow as well.
If you still really want it then buy it and be happy with your purchase.
Also, you should...
Funny huh, the teacher that was hot and young at my old high school only taught bio. I know all the guys woulda been paying CLOSE attention if she was talking about sex.
I doubt it was "forced" but its still pretty wrong, that kid was 13. OTOH if I coulda had a "special biology lesson" from the hottest teacher in high school I woulda been all over it.
Good work and JWD. I'm sure they deserved everything that they had comming. Glad to see you didn't take any heat too, that was the happy ending in my opinion.
That was funny. I still can't belive that they dropped Family Guy and didn't realize they were rep[lacing it with CRAP. Also the OC is marketed towards teenage girls/people who LOVE unrealistic drama.
Ewwwww... drama...
No, it shouldn't affect performance at all. Also, buying a high-end agp card right now isn't a very good upgrade. If you decide to game and don't want a whole new system you can always buy an AGP card later when the prices of current generation cards drop.
Thats a decent increase, extra airflow probably helps your whole system too. Idk how much you wanna put into a 9800 but the arctic coolers could get you another 20 mhz or so and reduce internal temps. What kind of case do you have?
I just got the nexus fan & light controller because it is a good looking way to control my ccfls from the front... That said, they have almost no effect on the noise of the nexus 120mm fans because it is only from turbulence. At full speed there is a noticable whoosh from the front and side...
Measure the inside of the bottom of your case and take the measurements to a hardware store that sells mirrors. You might want to take the whole case if your unsure about the measurements, like JBDan said. You could also get a cheap mirror at wal mart or a garage sale and cut it yourself with...
