2 modems on 1 pc

i bought 2 56k modems (same brand and chip, netodragon) and try to run em on 1 pc but got blue screens when i try to connect both modems. so there is someone who tried this before and can help me ? with a new modem (different brand) would this work?

the right time to buy a new pc?

i want to buy a new pc but i dont know if i should buy one right now or wait after xmas or before xmas. what should i do? the prices will drop in xmas or will be more expensive? my budget is $1200-1500

I live in Panama, a country in central america and my sister will fly to brooklyn, NY to visit some relatives we have there and i thought this is the time to buy new pc! lol, cuz here (panama) everything in pc parts is more expensive (6600GT PCI-Xpress = 250-300$) but i had never visited...
