If your wireless combo is USB+PS/2
then it should have 1 USB + 1 PS/2
if you are using it on USB, then you will only require to plug in the USB
and both keyboard and mouse will be connected to the same Receiver.
if you are running on a PS/2 port , then you will need both Purple color...
USB and PS/2 are different
you cannot just use a USB-PS/2 adapter and convert your USB device to PS/2
Unless the device IC controller chip support both USB and PS/2.
if you have a PS/2 mouse and you wanted to convert it to be able to use on USB port.
then you will need a PS/2-USB...
just my 2 cents
I prefer to use PS/2 port on my keyboard and mouse
as for USB there are for scanner, digital camera ......etc
i do noticed DELL is now shipping PC without PS/2 port
well, different people have different taste.
