ASUS A8N-E VS MSI K8N NEO 4 PLATINUM

I have the asus board, and its rock solid. great performance and stability. Havent had a crash or bsod once. cool n quiet feature works wonders, and nforce 4 chipset is great.

Need some USB Gamepads

Wouldnt recommend this one for kids. Reviews all rate it poorly for durability. I think thats why Logitech put out the Rumblepad. It's almost identical physically, but less prone to damage.

okay, the battery has been out for just about 16hrs now. Just to let you guys know, I get the exactly same symptoms when I try to boot without a battery period. I'm gonna pop it back in soon. Maybe the battery is dead? Would this cause my problem?

AHHHH My pc wont POST

I couldnt find a jumper cap to short the 2 CMOS reset pins. I used a screw to short it for 3 seconds. Would this work, or do i NEED to use a cap? where can I find one? Any other suggestions?

Well, its hard to get into the bios because i cant get monitor signal. It doesnt post or show anything period. Btw, i think onboard is activated unless u manually disable it, which i dont think i did.

Is it worth it for me to buy BF2?

Well, I run mine on the default high preset at 4x AA 1024x768 with: athlon 63 3700 san diego 1gb kingston ram asus extreme 6600gt.

Good, Quality power supply for 73 bucks

If ur building from scratch, I'd recommend the antec sonata II case. Really quiet, solid case, with a nice antec 450W PSU.

DVD Writer Problems

I have an LG 4163-B DVD Writer. It is listed as max speed 16x on DVD+Rs. I use Ridata 8x medium, but when I choose 8x speed in dvd-decrypter(my burning app), it only burns at max 6x. I was wondering whats causing the bottleneck. I have SATA-150 200gb HD.

uht oh..I think my 6800GT is fried :(

Bro, i know this may sound totally random. I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. Strangely enough I didn't know about anandtech at the time. I had to randomly remove components one by one. Eventually, removed/replaced my RAM sticks and voila, it POSTed and worked. Check your RAM.

Thanks for the quick replies. How should I know which temperature is for the CPU/HD/etc. Why does everest home edition show my CPU temp at 27C always? It like never changes!

Kingston ValueRAM Question

I recently purchased 2 sticks of Kingston ValueRAM for my Asus A8N-E. The model is KVR400X64C3A/512. I got 2 512MB sticks. From what I can tell, the RAM should be 400Mhz in speed. However in CPU-Z it shows as 200Mhz max frequency per stick. Is this correct? CPU-Z screenshots: Pic1 Pic2
