needs a more powerful CPU....
look at a
P4 660 3.6Ghz (2mb L2)
Asus P5AD2-E Premium (FSB 800/1066)
Asus AX800XT PE
Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS
Seagate 160Gb X2
Please dont get the 9800Pro....its out of date....instead get a 6600GT or a X800GT, both are about the same but the X800GT just edges out a bit
For the motherboard, please get a Asus A8N-E or a Abit AN8 Ultra
Via chipset isnt nice
3.3V is the control for the VDIMM so if that is low...then its ok as long as its over 3.0V
my 3.3 drops to a 2.9V when I OC high...because my PSU is cheap
I would rather have a overvolting PSU than an undervolting
I think it is your RAMs....
if you run memtest...and it comes with errors....get it RMAed.....RAMs cannot case faults at only 35C to 44C.......therefore I think its faulty hardware
the difference between MSI Neo2-F and the Platinum is that....Platium offers more additional functions......Im not really a MSI person but
for example
Asus A8N SLI
compared to
Asus A8N SLI Premium
The A8N SLI is just a stock one....same as the reference motherboard from Nvidia while...
if you want a nForce4 Ultra...it would be better if you invested your money on a Asus A8N-E or a Abit AN8 or a DFI nForce Ultra-D....if you are willing to take the risk of DFI's BIOS problem and its RAM diet
A8N-E.....of cause....its a question...that doesnt need to be asked.....
A8N-E using PCI-E
A8V using AGP.....old stuff....plus, its a Via so its even worse
nForce 4 was mainly targeted for the higher-range of buyers...which all most likely would use a stand alone VGA card...or even go SLI therefore there was no need for onboard VGA....
Most onboard VGA we see nowdays can only be found on mini-ATX motherboards.....as these motherboards are...
not bad....1st time....but I think the Vcore and VDimm should be lower.....
Too much voltage may not always be the answer for a stable PC...instead causing too much heat.......
Personally I would go for Asus as the best all rounder
Abit and Gigabyte is close behind
DFI in general is good bu because of their latest DFI LanParty nForce4 problems with BIOS and RAM issue, it back them down
MSI has been ok...ever since their cap problems a few year back....they have been...
