This was since 2005 when I started building computers.
My vf900 works great. I have it on my 7800gtx ko and it idles in the 50's in an HTPC case. Same card, with the stock cooling, in a P180 idled in the 70's.
This isn't a very scientific comparison but my e6400 couldn't do 3.2 @ 1.36v (didn't try too hard to get it to run) on my P5N32-E Plus board but on my current P5K it'll do 3.2 @ 1.288v 24hrs orthos stable.
Just like the topic says. I'm thinking about getting an Ultra 120 extreme but am worried that the side fan on the Antec 900 will hit the Ultra 120. Specifically wondering if the Ultra 120 will fit oriented horizontally, so the fan will be pointing up. Thanks.
The Tuniq might not fit in the 900 too well. I don't know the exact layout of the striker but on my a8n32-sli (in a 900) the tuniq wouldn't fit because it butted up against the clips for the side fan. No problems with the 9700 though.
If you have the Tuniq lying vertical (fan pointing to the back of the case) it might not fit. On a A8N32-SLI the tuniq wouldn't fit in the nine hundred. It would butt against the clips that antec uses to hold the side fan in place. I replaced the tuniq with a zalman 9700 and everything fits...
I've had the P180 and the 900. In terms of cooling, the 900 is way better than the P180. Wire management sucks in both cases. Overall I liked the 900 because its smaller, lighter and keeps my computer cooler.
Watch out for the side fan panel. I had a Tuniq tower in mine (on a A8n32-SLI board) and the side panel wouldn't fit. I now have a zalman 9700 in there and everything fits perfectly. Even runs cooler with the zalman. The zalman can be pointed to the top and the side fan is directly below...
Vote for vf900. Right now my 7800 gtx ko is idling at 39 C, peaks at 55 C in 3dMark06. Before it would idle in the high 50's, low 60's and peaks ~80 C.
You can twist the retention clip so that the HSF can point towards the back. Seems like you have the retention clip fiting perpendicular to the heat pipes. You can actually fit the clips between the heatpipes, parallel to them.
I have a case that comes with a side CPU duct. Problem is, I would only be able to use a low profile cpu cooler (something like the stock cooler). My question is: would it be better to use a smaller, "weaker" cpu cooler with a side duct venting in fresh air; or would it be better to use a larger...

Do two eVGA 7900 gt's. That way if you don't like the performance, you could step up later. I must warn you though, the 7900 GTX's are having a lot of problems. Out of the 3 GTX's I have received...only 1 has been problem free.
Pretty sure it doesn't fit. If you haven't brought the ninja yet the Tuniq Tower is another possiblility. Most reviews have shown the Tuniq to be a better cooler than the ninja. One user on the silentpc forums has stated that the Tuniq and the 3500LL will fit.

The new 1009 bios allows the use of positive dividers. Both the 903 and 1009 bios fixed the temp bug the mobo had with certain cpu's (my 4800 being one of them, it read the cpu temp ~5-10C higher than it should be).
I was trying to switch out my motherboard today to an Asus A8N deluxe. I tried to do it without re-formating and wound up getting into some problems with the onboard marvel LAN. I was installing the drivers for that and the system crashed on me. Long story short, now I can't get into my BIOS...
I have two KO's in a P180. I also have a bracket with two 92mm fans blowing along the whole length of the cards. On cool day (room temps ~70F) the cards will be around 45-48C idle and 65-69C load. On a hot day (~80F), the cards will be around 52-54C idle and 76-77C load.
I have a s12 600, P180 and evga sli mobo. My four pin connector didn't fit, so I had to get an extension for that. I didn't try to snake it under the video cards though. The 24 pin fits, but its tight. Especially since I have an SLI setup.
I think I narrowed it down to ram slots 3 and 4 malfunctioning. I tested each ram stick separately and each ram slot separately. I found that if I had a stick installed in slots 3 or 4 that the computer would either not POST or crash immediately after getting into windows. Slots 1 and 2...
Another update.
After I thought I fixed the problem last night I ran memtest86 just in case. Sure enough, came back an hour later and I had over 700 errors. I've ran memtest before on the same sticks (crucial 1gb ballistix), in the same slots (1 and 3) and it ran for 5+ hours, 6 passes...
Turns out it was my cheapy pci sata controller. I think all of the crashes caused the driver to be corrupted somehow. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the card and now everything seems to be fine. Just to be on the safe side I've updated all of my chipset drivers and video drivers. xtknight...
A couple of days ago I started having some problems with F.E.A.R. freezing my computer AFTER I quit the game. I looked on the F.E.A.R. forums and it seems that a couple of people had the same problem I did. The work around was to either: install a No CD crack or to leave v-sync enabled. I left...
Thanks for the help. Turns out it was my 7 in 1 card reader. If I leave it hooked up to the motherboard header the system would hang. After I disconnected it, the boot times returned to normal. Does anyone happen to know a work around to this?
This problem started after I changed out the cpu hsf. I really don't know if it's related to me changing out the hsf or not. After the evga splash screen and the other screen that shows the irq assignments, my system "hangs" for atleast a few minutes before the windows splash screen will show...
EVGA mobos have a known temp bug. Some have been known to have differences in temp of up to 15C. EVGA is supposed to be coming up with a bios fix for the problem.
