Will there be an APU to xfire pair with the HD 6850?

I've got an Phenom X4 840 and an AMD HD 6850. Looking to upgrade the CPU, so I started to look at the idea of hybrid crossfire with the 6850. From my reading, it seems that it either would not truly crossfire, or the 6850 would be slowed down considerably to work with whatever is available...
