Q6600 overclock .. maybe it can do a little bit more?

Ok .. I ended up getting a Scythe Kama 120mm Bay Fan to improve airflow .. replaced it with a Akasa fan .. that had more airflow. Also reseated the Heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 .. and ambients were 25 .. I think these are quite good temperatures with the Q6600 now...

Well .. I absolutely loved my board .. FSB could hit 320 no problems. Glad it died before the warranty ran out as I was jus going to sell it off.

Yep, its in the right position .. I tried both slots also, interchanged the slot selector. Nope, same monitor. Have tried two video cards already both of which work in my other system.

Ok .. this was working fine until an hour ago. It won't boot up and instead gives me 1 long beep and 2 short beeps which apparently is a video error according to the Award BIOS Beep code errors I read online as the manual has no beep error table. All fans spin up, even the HDD spins up .. but...

Same here, tried running my corsair at 1T .. even when its set in the BIOS as that, it reverts to 2T. Does that 5-5-5-15 too, so just stuck with 4-4-4-12 2T.

ASUS chipset fans

Had the same problem with my Asus a8n-sli deluxe 2.5 years ago .. ended up replacing with a zalman heatsink and modded an akasa fan on top of it to cool it off.

Ya .. once I get the front bay fan, that's goin down to 61! :D I need a new 120mm fan either ways coz I only have two in my case, one in the front and one at the back. The front one pulls air over the HDDs .. so that's totally useless with the cooling. I also put in my old chipset fan...

Ok . here's all my results. The first voltages are BIOS voltages, idle/load are from HW monitor. I have used the lower of the voltages shown by HW monitor and the higher of the core temperatures shown by coretemp. I also opened up 3 5.25' drive bays and it does reduce load temperatures...

Eh ... you got both boards, Bryan. Just pop the hoods and check it out :P ip35pro has xfire capabilities .. the second slot max @ 4x, RAID, e-sata, more USB ports, solid caps all over, heatpipe, fancier heatsinks, no firewire. Also I have noticed that most of the problems like double boot...

Right, I think I might have to go about getting better airflow in my case since I see drops of about 4-5 celcius when I remove the side panel. Thinking about replacing the side panel with this Akasa Side Panel and this Scythe Bay Drive Does anybody have any of these?

Ok .. did change these settings and at the same time set memory timings to SPD while keeping trfc to 54. Wasn't prime-stable with vdimm at 1.9V .. but is currently 2hrs+ prime stable with vdimm at 2.0V and vcore at 1.44V. Temperatures are at 63 load. Might be able to push it higher but I...

Yeh .. but I was still stable at trFC at 42 initially at the same voltage. And I think the issue with trFC applies to speeds over 800Mhz? Am actually going to try increasing FSB and doing the voltage changes as bryan advised. Shall post back.

Right I will give the voltage increases a shot and then get back on results. Regarding the memory ... memset does show the tRfc set as 42. So I should set this to 54 instead? There is a BIOS option in the pro btw to change this.

How long to test for stability?

I am overclocking a 8800gts BFG OC and wondering how long should I keep the stability test on for? I am using Ati tool to scan for artifacts .. is that sufficient to test for stability? Or is there an alternative that would be better?

Read the sticky in the CPU section at the top to understand the whole process a little bit better. It should help you answer most of your questions regarding the cpu/mem/pci-e settings. Also, remember your cooling needs to be sufficient and adequate. Every system is different and overclocks...

I am using a zerotherm Nirvana .. I stopped using OCCT and started using the prime95 v25.6 and was stable at 3.15Ghz using 1.3V. Temperatures were 50 celcius load. Just upped the voltage to 1.34V and running at 366FSB equivalent to 3.294Ghz. Temps under load are 53 on average for all cores...
