Nah, I got to know some of my Section 8 renters. They had me and the girlfriend over for chicken. Nice people. But having big screen TV's and all the pot you can smoke all the while you turn down and quit jobs because the boss actually expects you to work (his words) doesn't to me seem worthy of...
Well I'm thinking your joking about your Dad using such extreme measures in rent collecting. Although personal experience as a landlord that inherited Sec. 8 tenants, I feel his pain.
If he rented to Sec. 8 tenants himself, well he deserves what he gets for having a hand in robbing the...
Yeah I'm not saying the results are true, as they seem somewhat unbelievable. Only that it was 06 ran and it seems Theo trusts the results. Whether he's spinning yarn or not......dunno.
One of the neatest things I like about this game/demo is the way the enemy dies/falls. Especially when you get one or two with a grenade and see the bodies blow slightly upwards and away from the blast. That just looks sweet.
One thing I found somewhat unrealistic is you can run forever...
I agree with one possible exception. I had the standard Daqing? Oilfields crash to desktop with a memory error in Vista before the "fix". Could have been something unrelated though. Acted the same as when PR would crash on me though.
A lot of the virtual memory problems in Vista are tied to...
The issue is not the 2GB of system memory but the way Vista allocates virtual memory you hit the "2GB limit" described in this AT article- http://www.anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3034 . Bf2 does not flag the OS with LARGEADDRESSAWARE so even if you are running a 64 bit OS you still run...
Going with the 64bit OS makes some things easier. I had to do the 2GB limit fix in the AT article for the Project Reality mod for bf2. So I modified the bf2 executable using Visual Studio C++ to tell the OS to not limit virtual memory to 2GB.
Having the 64 bit version of Windows already I...
So wow. After more searching found out that Vista Home Premium does't have the "local security settings" line in Administrative Tools. Nor the "secpol.msc" run command to get to security policies.
Anyone know what to change in the registry to change from Guest to Client setting for the...
OK after more searching I think the reason that I'm missing the "local security sttings" line under Administative Tools is that I elected to not set up a user account/password protection for boot-up when installing Vista.
Edit- HHmmm.... maybe that's not the reason- just added a password to...
Im trying to run Visual Studio in Vista 64 and get the error message saying I have my Network Access: Sharing and security model for local accounts setting set to Guest.
From what I've found online I have to change this setting to "Classic" in the Network access: Saring and security model...
Anyone install this on Vistax64 yet? Doesn't show up in the programs list and can't find a way to launch it going through the games folders.
Aha- restarted Steam- there it is...
No, don't do the PhysX card. Crysis doesn't use it. The engine uses it's own physics programming. Put the extra money into a GTX or better still wait until the next round of DX10 cards.

Yeah even to the GTS model in the ones ran.
I thought the first run of benches were with AA/AF and was like "wow the 2900XT is coming up to...
They are going to monitor how long and how many times you look at a particular ad. I think of that as spyware. And this is what they admit to collecting.
As stated before- they will start with so called non intrusive ads but over time you will wonder why you are ordering Avon lipstick and...
It's got spyware too. Not buying this game because of it. Like above poster stated. This is just the start. If we accept this they will escalate the level of advertising until it's hardly a game anymore.
One vote for waiting for something better from Nv/ATI in 4-5 months. All the "big" games - Crysis, UT3, En. Terr. Quake Wars, etc. - are all being constantly delayed anyway.
Yeah it won't change until you hit the next "step". Keep going up and checking what the core clock is actually set as.
So hows about switching cards? Mine has a fancy "EVGA" sticker on it and everything.....
Any hints on getting mine to not slideshow on me? If I reduce the textures to Medium it's smooth again but I wish I could turn off some proccesses or somehow save some memory to not have to do that.
Not sure what BF2142 maps max out for ram usage but the maps I'm playing take 1.5 gigs of ram by themselves at 2046x1536 res and max texture setting. On XP these played smooth as silk with 2 gigs but on Vista(even turning a few things off) they are unplayable due to swapping.
Vista just can't...
Well yes and no. Vista will give up what it can for the game, but it won't slim itself down to anywhere near XP levels. Bf2 mod with 2GB of memory and textures on high- XP= smooth as silk- Vista= unplayable and even crashing due to swapping/low memory.
Not sure on Oblivion but would assume...
I think we/they should remove the OT/LOVE/POLITICS, etc. categories and then we would have room for more of these categories. And do away with the sub-categories clicking.
Yeah- I know a few. They buy cars and vacations and summer homes instead of video cards. But if they were into gaming/hardware they could buy 4 of these every weekend.
Your link was dead but if your going to run 2gigs of memory I would go XP64 which has been great for me, but if your planning on upgrading to 4 gigs in the future or starting with 4 I would go with Vista 64.
