Good advice  . I would focus on setting up your existing 5.1 system, with proper room layout and calibration, before even considering going to a 7.1 system.
I'll add my 2 cents...
In my experience, the 1.5:1 ratio (for HD viewing) and the 2:1 ratio (for SD viewing) is dead on. So, what ihatemyjob mentioned above would be correct...if you go with a 40" TV, you should plan to sit at least 60"-80" away for optimal viewing distance.
spidey - I...
I have the CNPS9500 LED and I would echo Sparky's statements. I run mine at about 2000 RPM and the noise is inaudible above my two case fans (both 120mm).
How much are you planning to OC? If you're not going all-out and getting high-end RAM to try and get the max OC possible, I don't think...
Have you tried calling Alienware support to have them help you troubleshoot it? As I understand it, that's one of the reasons to purchase a high-end system with a high-end price from a company like Alienware.
I just got done installing the CNPS9500, but it was on my socket 939 motherboard. So I didn't really look too closely at the screws for the socket 775 installation.
But from memory (and looking at the pics from the Zalman website) I would estimate that they are about 1-1/2 inches long. Are...
Cheers for a great site and a great cause. I religously click on thehungersite.com every day, although I can't say that I have as long of a track record (6 years is pretty tough to beat).
Nice post OP!
I am running a 3200+ Winnie as well, and on an Asus A8V Deluxe. I'm running at 2350MHz and idle temps are about 37-38C, and load temps top out at around 50C. My ambient temp is about 27-28C though. At 2500Mhz or higher, I'm guessing I'd be at about the same temperatures as you.
It does...
Yup! Except something that would fit in the Antec Sonata (I'm assuming that the Lian-Li cover wouldn't fit in the Sonata...I could be completely wrong)
Good post, OP.
Another decent review of the board can be found here. Unfortunately the reviewer did not take the time to discuss the OC'ing abilities. :(
Edit: Also found a review of the mobo that indicates this board can be OC'ed just fine - but only the FSB and voltages can be adjusted...
Hmmm...pic 7 and 8 were schematic drawings and not actual pictures. The only actual pictures I saw were of a device that looked like a jet engine.
Nice mod..???
I'd also like to find something similar for my Antec Sonata, as I don't have 3 open 5.25" bays to use for extra intake cooling using something like the Sycthe Kama Bay.
Anyone have any ideas?
