    I just bought a dell XPS 13. It's not the 2-1 version but I imagine it would be similar. Easily 10+ hours battery life with the new Kaby lake and the FHD (not QHD) screen. Weighs somewhere around 2.7lbs and has an SD card slot.

    Yes faster memory can always downclock to slower speeds. Acer likely had a surplus of 2400 chips and used that instead of 2133.

    The 3160 isn't ac1200 it's a single 1x1 stream rated for up to 433mbps. I'd say the performance is close to expected. You could jump up to a 7260 2x2 to bring it to 866mbps which should theoretically double the speeds. There are newer 8260 and 8265 I think but they only support newer Bluetooth...

    Xeon L5639 Overclocking on X58

    When I had my x58 board and Xeon I bought a 2GB registered ECC chip to test with and it worked. ECC wasn't enable because there were no BIOS options to turn it on. So it will work. My plan was to fill it with 6x8GB registered sticks but sold the platform before I could investigate further.
