I also plan on upgrading my P182. I will most likely get the Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl. That would be my recommendation.

Can having the HD 4000 enabled degrade performance on the 7950? Using the iGPU to run my HDTV to keep temps down on the 7950. When testing for stability, should I just let heaven run on extreme in a loop? If so, for how long?

Has anyone who received their free game postcard have the unique code already displayed on the back? It also sucks that newegg was supposed to send me Crysis 3 & Bioshock, but only sent Bioshock. I'm running my card on stock at the moment. 925/1250

New Sapphire 7950, minor display corruption?

I have experienced this recently. Do you have the Intel iGPU enabled? I have my 6950 running my main display & the iGPU running my HDTV. I had to install the iGPU driver first and uninstall and reinstall the AMD drivers for the desktop corruption to stop on initial boot-up. Note: I also...

I still have my Soyo (PSU Died) sitting in the other room. Hoping to replace the PSU, if they ever pop back up somewhere. It really did have an amazing picture quality, that's why I'm clinging to it. :)

Ivy Bridge iGPU + Discrete Question

Just finished my Ivy Bridge build. I was wondering if running the iGPU and AMD 6950 together is a good idea? My primary Monitor is connected to the 6950 and my HDTV is connect to the iGPU. Both GPU's have the latest drivers installed. I noticed a problem when the screensaver went active...

I also use burnaware, very simple and best of all free. Just be sure to uncheck the ask toolbar installation.

6950 Owners report in

XFX 6950 running at stock. It's been smooth sailing so far. Using the 10.12 RC3 drivers without any issues. I don't plan on unlocking my card anytime soon, stock gives me plenty of performance.

Fixed: Yeah, not happy with this HD6950 (excessive heat with multimonitor problem)

My eVGA 9800GT idle temp was 65c & load was 85c. My current XFX 6950 is pretty much the same, idle 62c and load 85c. I just wasn't aware that enabling multi-displays caused the temps to increase. I did disable the second display on my 6950 and sure enough my idle temps dropped to 45c...

Fixed: Yeah, not happy with this HD6950 (excessive heat with multimonitor problem)

This had me puzzled for the past week since getting my 6950. Temps just didn't match review temps. I have it hooked up to my HDTV as a secondary extended display and my temps idle at 62c. This saves me a lot of troubleshooting. I hope it's fixed soon, 62c idle is a bit too warm.

Anyway you cut it, upgrading from my current 9800GT will be heaven. :) I plan on getting the ASUS/XFX 6950 2GB. Just need to decided which brand. This will be my first ATI card. I've been gaming on nvidia, and before that, 3Dfx.

AMD 6870 Adapter Question

Thanks XFX Support. I didn't realize I had a HDMI connection on the 6870. I just assumed 2 DVI & 3 mDP. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm all set now, as I have that active adapter already. Fitting you would respond, seeing as I have a XFX 6870. :)

I just purchased a HDTV and want to connect it to my 6870. I currently have both DVI connections occupied with 2 desktop LCDs. I plan on getting a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter for the HDTV. Does the adapter have to be active, or will a regular one work? Basically I want all 3 displays...

What's your GPU temperature under full load?

9800GT 512MB - idle @ 60 - Load @ 85 The G92 cards run pretty hot. My 8800GT idles at 65 and loads at 95. I have considered upgrading the HSF, but I plan on getting a new video card in the near future.

Help me upgrade from my 8600GTS

If I had to choose between the 3 above, I would probably go with the MSI Cyclone. I'm really fond of that aftermarket cooler they have on there.

nVidia please slash those prices thanks to AMD.

If you plan on keeping the card for 3 years, be aware the eVGA FTW 850 core only has a 2 year warranty. eVGA has two model numbers you should be aware of, AR (Lifetime) & TR (2 Years).

Best driver for 8800GT w/ Win7x64?

I would probably try the new drivers as well. I am on 178.24, but that drivers doesn't support Windows 7 (I'm on Vista).

(Help) Dark lines on LCD

Thanks for the reply shangshang. If that is in fact the problem, I won't be able to replace the capacitors myself. I have to say that this LCD has held up pretty well since I got it in 2005. No dead pixels, no back light bleed and besides this current issue, it has been flawless.

Which brand Video Card do you have?

eVGA 9800GT 512MB. I am currently waiting in the new NVidia cards before upgrading. It pretty much runs every game at high to medium, so I'm in no rush for an upgrade. I just hope NVidia's new flagship cards delivers in both performance and price.
