HDD Question

I want to put my old Samsung drive into my new pc, use it as a primary drive and then use my new drive as the storage drive, do i need a jumper? i remember back in the day b4 the sata thing, you needed to place one on master one on slave. does this still hold tru?

Case - Reasoning behind the 900 was because I had heard it was quiet and pushed a lot of air. Ideally I'm looking for something that is quiet, don't really care about the window or not, just care that it is low noise, good cooling, and semi astetic(sp?). Thanks again for the help. :)
