Hot Qwest Wireless Nationwide 500 Digital $20/month (loyalty)

Topic says it all. Loyalty 500 anytime plan (alternately 350 anytime/1000 evenings and weekends) for $20/month now includes the digital nationwide network. You must call and upgrade the phone software and the account, but the customer service guy swears that there's no increase in cost. (We'll...

Chuck E. Cheese-Buy $5 Tokens, get $5 in tokens free

Chuck E Cheese stores vary. We've got a great one near us. They do a bottom-to-top cleaning each day around three o'clock. It's very quiet then and the salad bar gets fully cleaned and restocked. Nice to let the kids play (with those half-price tokens!) on clean machines in a quiet restaurant.

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

My $22/month does *not* include regular telephone service. That's something like $15/month more for my land-line. Plus gadzillions of taxes.

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

I've used many ports--no problem. For quicktime broadcasting, iChat, and so forth. As for services, I use a 3rd party (mindspring) NNTP, etc and no problems with those either.

Potentially VERY hot: Black Faced Floppy, 1 cent!

True story: My mom recently visited. She brought a floppy with several dozen Microsoft Word files. It was her autobiography. I asked, "Why not just use one file?" She explained that she kept running out of space. After writing a page, the gauge came on and showed she filled up the limit. I...

Try calling Barton at 602-665-3181 x 9190 He's the normal support guy who will interface with the DSL specialists. A name for DSL is Donna Fuentes at 602-665-3299 (no extension needed)

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

That is so bogus. I have the pages saved in MSIE so I've got evidence of the prices. The DSL page says *nothing* about having a package. Fast, always-connected DSL service, with your choice of ISP. FREE activation ($99 savings) when you order by 2/27/04. Plus, get a modem for just $59.99. Or...

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

*shrug* I'm stuck in Denver. What can I do? Qwest sucks. Qwest sucks. Qwest sucks. :)

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

It's still the same sucky Qwest connection that I've had for several years now. I'm just paying less and dumping the normal Qwest.net ISP. Because I'm at the end of the service line, I get tons of line tap. So on my best days, I get 200 up and 400-500 down.

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

$15/month only covers the DSL connection. With all DSL, you need both a line *and* a service provider (ISP), which (for qwest) typically costs $18-$32 more. The extra $7/month replaces the ISP. You can use the web, but you can't use news (NNTP), e-mail (qwest.net or msn.com or whatever), and so...

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

I'm just really happy because I'd been paying about $58/month with Qwest/Qwest.net. (Doing the Qwest sucks, Qwest sucks, but I got a Hot Deal dance)

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

Broadband basic (BBB) takes the place of having to use MSN, Qwest.net or any other ISP. The choice option runs the live hardware connection. BBB replaces the ISP.

Nice and Hot: Qwest DSL Broadband Basic $15 + $7/month

(Note: Qwest is the only provider who can offer DSL at my place of business) Qwest Choice DSL -- always on, 256 down, up to 256 up. $15/month (http://www.qwest.com/smallbusiness/dsl/index.html) Qwest Broadband Basic -- no services $6.99/month...

Flaming hot!!! 2X DVD-R media for $0.85 each

I've done a number of orders with them via the CDRDVDRMEDIA.com site and have never had a problem. I don't think they are fly-by-night. One satisfied customer doesn't mean much and I haven't found any sites with a lot of feedback. http://www.resellerratings.com has only 3 reports for the...

Flaming hot!!! 2X DVD-R media for $0.85 each

Hoeboy, What's a CVD? Did you mean VCD? My DVD player can play homemade SVCD's and I think it can read DVD-R's. CVD = Chinese Video Disk 352x480 (Or 352x576 for the PAL people), which is also valid for DVD video. Whenever I have and AVI or a stubborn SVCD I'll re-encode to CVD using CCE. It...

Flaming hot!!! 2X DVD-R media for $0.85 each

I use the "Grade A" DVDPro at 1x and 2x without any trouble in my Apple Superdrive. They cost under a dollar at www.cdrdvdrmedia.com I'd avoid Princo like the plague. Too many flaking stories.

    the Cheapest Item @ Staples.com

But why not get something you actually can use? I rather like SKU 504183 at $0.89. (Packing tape is also a great addition, but more $$'s) I've already got more paperclips than I know what to do with.

    CD-R review on c|net

Cool stuff--but I spotted a few mistakes there at first glance about who manufactures what. Also their discussion about the Sony discs didn't really explain what was going on with the wavelength of the laser light, the organic dyes and the reflectivity.

    firewire 6 pin/4 pin cable for 4.95

In my experience, it pays to buy the best quality 1394 cable you can. The dropped frames and unreliable data transfer with cheaper cables just aren't worth it. I paid a fortune for a good quality belkin about a year and a half ago, but it was well worth it. The prices are so much lower now that...

TiVo Subscriber Changes (Monthly & Lifetime)

We've one Tivo and one Replay. I absolutely love my Tivo. The Replay is fine--it does the job, but you just can't love the thing. It isn't well designed enough. We got our Tivo (lifetime) in August 2000 (during the Anandtech wave of Sears clearances $99 for the 14 hour unit and $100 rebate)--and...

Pretty Hot: Panasonic Showstopper 30 hour $210 after $100 MIR

I picked up a Panasonic Showstopper 30-hour (this is a Replay TV) unit for $310 today. It comes with a $100 MIR to 3/31/01. ReplayTV includes everything, so you don't need to purchase any additional services as you would with TiVo. The 20-hour was about $30-$40 cheaper. I came across this deal...
