Need help choosing power supplies

My entire system (besides what's on my profile) has one 500GB IDE drive, a 7200RPM SATA, and a 10,000RPM SATA. Plus I have 4x 80mm case fans (2 with LEDs) and a single 120mm fan. I also have two lightscribe DVD R/RW drives and a floppy drive hooked up too. I don't know if this makes a...

Need help choosing power supplies

My power supply has been giving me fits for a while now. I've heard my seasonic s12-600W rev. A2 PSU has problems with DFI SLI-DR mobos. On occasion, the yellow LED under the PCI slots will start to blink and I can't boot until it stops anywhere from an hour to three days later. If anyone...

even if you do need to get a new windows serial number, most universities and colleges sell them to students for cheap. I got mine for $5 a copy at the campus computer store. There should be a similar deal whereever you go.

Another "How big of PSU do I need" thread...

If/when you need a new hard drive, ribbon had the right idea with a 250GB hdd, as they are the best bang for the buck right now. The best price I've found for a HDD that isn't refurbished or something like that is on the website...

advice on installing raptor

Raid 0 may be faster, but if one of the drives crashes, or something goes wrong, you lose the data on BOTH drives. That said, you must determine if the performance boost will be worth the risk of losing all of the data on the drives for yourself.

I'll probably just get a 7800GTX KO 256mb from eVga, which should be enough for my system, I can always get another card later. That way I can save the money if I don't need the extra speed (which I probably won't).

Will the cards stay cool enough with the stock coolers on it? I heard that the cards may be too close together for effective air cooling. The Quadro cards run at slower memory and clock speeds than the 7800GTX 256mb version even, 512mb version nonwidthstanding

Help! How do I make C: partition (system) bigger?

Maybe you could take an image of the drive with OS on it and place it onto a second drive, then reformat the first, and then copy it back onto the first. ex. copy A->B, format A, copy B->A Dont' know if this makes sense/works at all.

Urgent Help Needed

Check the path of the cables. The cables must go through a cable modem for the connection to work. If you moved the computer but not the cable modem, the signal won't work properly, and may be what's giving you the signal. Also, make sure that you plugged the internet connection cord into...

old Gpu, new Mobo

I thought so, but I still had to ask. Feel free to post if anyone has a card as old as mine or older. I could use a good laugh knowing how well my system would be gaming if only I could afford a decent GPU. X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, and an 11 year old GPU :(

I've got a DFI lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR mobo on thursday, but don't have the money for a 7800 card yet. If I put an older PCI (not express GPU) card into the mobo, will it harm it any? I don't know the card name/type since it's from a friend, but it's from copyright 1994! Laugh at your own...

Actually if you read the other reviews, and not just the most recent ones posted, most people gave it better ratings. The average was 4/5 stars by consumers. Only 3 of the 2 dozen reviewers rated it less than 4 or 5 stars.

Turn computer off?

I've heard that processors are meant to be running most of the time. I'd assume that harddrives are like cars, it's fine running, as long as the "engine" doesn't overheat. Leaving it on overnight should be fine, but if they're constantly reading and writing to the drives, like on a server...

Question for you older guys

Actually, the capacitors on the mobo of the old system are ready to fail soon, so I'm typing this on my Dell laptop. Using this for gaming/etc doesn't work well, WMP won't play WMV files, and CS:S doesn't work well at 8FPS! No that's not a typo I really played CSS at eight FPS for a month!

How do I install an IDE HDD....

I know what he's talking about, my system also had problems with the OS running from a SATA drive. Changing channels didn't seem to help, check the boot order in the BIOS. Mine had the Sata as a secondary, but the IDE as 3rd primary boot drive?!?

True or False: AMD X2s are compatible with any Socket 939 Board

I've heard that if the board can run a FX-55, it can run a X2. Don't know if it's true or not.
