Windows comes with thousands of extra drivers you dont need. They only take up hard drive space because they are not envoked or in use.
What I think you are referring to is the unnecessary software that comes bundled with your peripherals and hardware. (i.e. demos, trial software, etc.)...
For the price of a 21" crt, I would buy 2 LCDs or 2 CRTs....I can't decide aroiuga;sldjg; :)

I need to replace my current NEC FE991SB 19" CRT. Since deskspace is not an issue (my desk has a little raised shelf for a big monitor), I'm still debating whether to shell out nearly $400 for a dell LCD or just pay ~$220 for another NEC/Samsung/Viewsonic CRT from newegg.

I had this problem last week and was able to fix it. In my case, the file was deleted and I could not boot into safemode or anything.
The solution was simple, I needed to copy NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM from the XP Installation CD (Or a working XP machine) on to my hard drive.
