should I buy a customized laptop from xoticpc?

I want to buy a customized asus notebook but I have never heard about xoticpc before so I don't know if I can trust them. Does anyone have any experience with them? And what is that support like (warranty, etc)?

Docking station or USB hubs

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think a Mac Book would be a good alternative for me. I already dual boot with Windows (which I still need because of certain programs) and Ubuntu (my main OS) so why pay for a Mac OS that I won't use. And I am not a big fan of Apple so for me it is not worth...

After a little bit of research I've found the Asus G1S, VX2S and V1S would all fit my needs. I think I might have to do without the Bluray burner and just get a regular DVD burner otherwise my choices are too limited. Does anybody have any of these and if so, how do you like it and what are...

Need a new laptop...macbook? acer aspire?

I think it would if you are just doing the basic stuff like surfing the web, using Word, Excel, etc, or listening to music. If you mainly use it for school/work then I would guess that's all you would be doing. Anything beyond that like video editing, gaming, watching HD movies or multitaksing...

Asus has some barebone laptops but I don't know where you can buy them (check the website); Newegg might have them.

Hmm...that really surprises me...from all the different forums and websites that I looked at I read just the opposite: Asus has much better build quality than Dell. Oh well, I guess it is somewhat subjective and might also depend on which model you get. Laptop speakers don't really matter to...

never heard of ibuypower before but their systems are definitely cheaper with the same stuff in them compared to asus, dell or sony...I wonder why that is...

I have tried both of these distros on my laptop and I like them both (they actually seem pretty similar to me). I wanted to know if there are any real differences between the two (besides Ubuntu lacking a GUI at installation) and if one has useful features the other one doesn't have?

I do a lot of installing and uninstalling since I test out new programs frequently and switch programs that I use also pretty frequently. Now that obviously messes with the dll's and leaves stuff behind in the registry. Is there a good and RELIABLE program that would clean that up or what should...

I want to sync certain folders for school and other stuff with my desktop and laptop. I do have a home network set up or I could alo use a USB stick. It needs to be really reliable in detecting which file I changed last because I don't want to lose any notes I take during school. Any good apps...
