8 MB vs 16 MB Buffer

You won't see any difference between 8 and 16. I use both every day and can't tell. My raptors are faster, tho.

Wireless Router

As long as you don't buy a Netgear, you should be fine. Most of their unit avec over-heating, and they are not sending back their post-rebates.

The new Raptor is out!

No. I have 2 raptors and a 300GB Maxtor 16mb. The maxtor is definately MUCH slower. Try downloading 50 files/torrents at the same time and loading a game with your 10ms drive, then come back. The raptors are fast, they really are, and if you're usign it for more than just load games...

HDCP LCD MONITORS

I have this monitor. I confirm that 1280 X 720 is the optimal resultion. 1280 X 1024 is supported and looks good, but not much. 1280 X 720 is superb, top notch.

Best 26-27" LCD for monitor?

LCD TV as a computer Monitor

I use this exact same Viewsonic monitor as my main TV / Computer Display / Console gaming display. Paid about 600$ at costco ! 1280 X 720 is absolutely perfect. No need to spend 500$ each half-year on a new video card, because it's a reasonable resolution. I would recommend anytime ...

Cordless keyboards

Bluetooth Wireless = Long distance, slow response. RF Wireless = Short distance, fast response. So you want a fast RF keyboard, not a Bluetooth one ;)

Over 200 Xbox games will work on the Xbox 360. And all will have FSAA and be 720p or 1080i.

Wow Microsoft ! Just WOW ! Playing all those old XBOX games in 720P will bring back life to them ! We asked for Backward Compatibility, and they gave us even more ! I'm really happy about that decision.. now they just have to add the burnout series :)

my Quake 4 grip...

Thats' why I hate the Q4 SP experience. Even in the easiest settings, sometimes I have to save/load 10 times to get through one part of the game. Hell I'm even stuck in the first levels right now. Everytime this kinda event happens, It makes me hate a game. FEAR was super easy at the...

Havok FX

This is THE best solution for us, because it cost nothing to the customer, and we get physics. No one except rich enthusiasts will want to buy a PPU at 250$, so this new solution will probably be very welcome !

What are the absolute best games you can get on the market right now?

I would add Psychonauts, if you like the Action/Arcade ALA console style and if you have a gamepad :) Certainly one of the funniest game of the year, and it looks beautifull too !

Quake 4 doesnt need more than 1 gig of RAM and 256MB of video memory

FEAR also as constant 1100MB+ usage on my machine.

Where are the Seagate 7200.9 16MB Drives?

Don't pay more for a 16mb drive, you gain ZERO speed. If you want something fast, get a raptor. Else, any reliable 7200rpm big platter drive, they're about all the same speed.

What do you think of quake 4?

Buyed both fear and quake 4, finnished fear in 8 hours, it was the game of the year for me. Started playing Quake 4 after that, and DAMN, does this game sucks after you've been playing fear !!! I would say BORING. Still looks great, but so was DOOM 3...

If you have a good gaming PC (let's say an A64 with 6800+), get all the titles for the PC. Else, invest in the 36o.

Quake 4 and Doom 3... sigh

I was also deceived by doom 4 (errr Quake 4) But there are TONS of good games this season. F.E.A.R is certainly the best single player FPS for this year. Followed by call of duty 2 that just came out. BF2 was a good multiplayer FPS. Flatout & Trackmania sunrise, two good racing...

AA doesn't work in my W.O.W

Dude, the difference between 0xAA and 4xAA are nothing short of exceptional. My LCD resolution is 1280 X 720, so 4xAA is a NECESSITY !

I've been playing world of warcraft since december. I had a 6600GT and everything worked fine. I upgraded to a 7800GTX, and now anti-aliasing doesn't work anymore in world of warcraft. It works correctly in other games ! I have no game profiles. I tried forcing AA in the drivers...

FEAR Graphics Settings. What are yours at?

At 1024 X 768, you gain nothing above 4xAS. The resolution is not high enough for the detailed far textures to appear. Turn it down to 4xAS, watch the frames go up, with about the same image quality. Test yourself ;) I did last night, and the IQ is the same at 4xAS @ 1024 X 768 :)

X2 3800+ Overclocking Poll

Another great overclocker here. 3800+ reached 2.65 GHz @ 1.5V @ 60C (2 X Prime 95, 12H) on stock cooling.
