    Most people try to reach the highest stable speeds they can. If your card can make it through a torture test for a long time, it should be fine. However you can back down a couple MHz if you're really paranoid

    Are you kidding me? Since the 7600 GT > 6800 GS and the 6800 GS = 6800 GT, use those friggin math properties. The 7600 GT is obviously the better choice.

    I agree with munky - see his post. Don't worry about anybody going on about the 7600 GT's 128-bit memory interface. What you are probably more worried about is real-world performance, and when it comes down to that, the 7600 GT defeats the 256-bit 6800 GS by a large margin.

    IMO, get whatever is cheapest. X1900 XTX advantages - HDR+AA, widely accepted to have better IQ, more efficient when enabling AA. 7900 GTX advantages - much quieter, less power, lifetime warranties of certain distributors. Again, I would go for whatever you can find for the best price...

    Yes, I agree. For example, if he has a 19" LCD there's no point in wasting the extra money for a 7900 GT SLI, with the added heat/power/noise etc., a 7900 GTX would do him fine. But if he has a monster display that can support high resolutions, SLI could be useful for him.
