running a 1366/920 o/clocked now with the available used 1366 6 core cpu's becoming fairly cheap used on the forums, myself id be looking to go that way...yea x79 is cool and a beast but 1366 offers more than anyone in there right mind could use as far as cpu speed and bandwidth... now if i had...

Wierd MSI Mobo behavior

i5 or X6 for programming (no gaming). Please suggest

x6 for what your gonna be using it for....best option is i7 970/980 6 core but amd x6 is a good deal ,best bang for the buck...

Anyone have the ASrock p67 Fatality Performance edition?

from reviews ive read it seems to be a fine board and does o/clock well..id use it in a heartbeat for a modest 1155 system...2500k and your all set....you dont need much of a board to run these SB cpu's...voltage regulation looks good with 10 regulators..... sold out at newegg, must tell you...

i7 920 to i7 2600 a real upgrade?

unless its a lower power issue...makes zero sence to upgrade for performance 1366 is still a beast...

If you could get a Phenom X6 1100T for.....

i voted no as a big amd fan [even tho im on i7 920] due to the fact that id wait on BD next month..if you have a motherboard that will support BD it will run circles around phenom 2 chips...if you dont have a board that supports BD then id be looking in the forums next month for a used amd 6...

Intel motherboards LGA1155

For what you are using your system for any of the top tier boards would do you fine..dont really believe intel branded boards are better than say asus, giga, msi,or even biostar....nothing wrong at all with intel but others are just as good... I also read that foxconn builds intel boards so...

MSI x58 pro i7 pci express 2.0 issue with sata controller

speed seems correct if its going through southbridge since board is pcie 2.0 compliant [right?] and usb3 if equipped is done through an add on controller...my dfi board has a x4 slot that manual says its through the southbridge...I run a tv card in it..all is good..

1155 MB recommendation

go z68...latest greatest for the same money as p67...plus extra features... the giga board looks to be a winner and the biostar board is also very good... with no o/clocking any board you like will work fine for your use...just go for the board that you like the best...

what memory is 100% compatible with MSI P67A-G45?

Man thats wierd with gskill...usually works on any board ive ever used...if you want 100% compatability you better look at the compatability chart from msi which has tested and approved ram, if you want 100% compatability...

what's the difference between motherboards?

intel SB for sure...much faster than amd and well worth the price... im an amd guy at heart but after building my 1366 rig [my first intel system] imo these i7 systems bury amd...when BD comes out, whenever, it may be competitive but with ivy bridge coming from intel you can be sure it will...

1366 is what id go for....pretty affordable if you shop around...amazing speed and plenty of ram through put.... even SB would be fine...they are amazing also....

Asus P6X58-E WS or ASUS P6X58-E PRO

personally id opt for the pro version as its a later board...any problems with the older boards you would think have been corrected with the newest model out...but in reality you cant go wrong with either board...just my opinion....i just cant get over the processing power and ram through put of...

Anyone know where I can get an IO shield?

ive never heard of a mobo company not offering a shield for a late model board..ive got shiels for free or just had to pay shipping...i call them and explain the situation and asus,biostar,msi, even got one for ecs board a few years ago...there have got to be shields available from who ever...

Motherboard for Quad 6950s

x58 is your only choise right now...there affordable now,even on the forums you can get a killer deal on x58 stuff...im going to run mine for a while as its so damn fast and rund flawlessly....you cant go wrong with x58 imo.... 2011 socket is now put off till march so youll be waiting awhile....

just sell your current ram and buy something else thats compatable...got to be someone on the forums that has a stable set of ram running on that board...what are you going to lose selling your ram and buying 2 sticks of 4gig ram that works...right...

not bad for a current amd system..but intel SB is a much better choise..they are blazing fast and low power..your buying technology that is on the way out next month and SB is the latest tech out...even if bulldozer is faster it wont be by much...you need to consider looking at SB benches and...

Proper 1366 Motherboard for OCZ Vertex 3

sir just to let you know I run a sata 2 western digital ssd on the intel ich 10 south bridge currently just because i have room for it but i have benched it on the marvall controller also just to see the difference and they are both almost identical...only reason i dont run it off there is boot...

if you can afford the 2600k then go for it...with no o/clocking rule of thumb is buy the fastest cpu you can afford...but even on stock voltage these o/clock like mad....

Do I really need an EPS 12v power supply for Sandy Bridge?

use the adapter and all power feeds are powered up...ive used them on several mobo's and they work fine....just bugs me knowing 4 of the power feeds has no power....ive used the first one listed as i just plugged the 4 pin on the power supply to the 4 pin on the adapter and then plug the 8 pin...

Corsair TX750 rails

my ocz 700 wt fatality shows 12.3 and 5.1 and im in spec...my pcp&cooling 750 showed 12.01 and 5.06 rock steady even under full load...my ocz unit is the same voltages dont vary at all...this is checked with a flute 300.00 meter....i believe your fine...u can call tech support for corsair as...

Q9300 @ 3.0 idle temp, 62C

80f is going to give you high temps anyway...but idle @ 62c is bad...better look at the heatsink mounting...too loose, too much paste,not sitting flat on cpu....or software not reporting correctly maybe.....anyway to hot for idle...at 80f id be looking for more in the mid-high 40s @ idle...

just wait your not gonna see much improvement if any..waste of time and money... wait on bulldozer and see whats up and then decide if its SB or 1366 or wait on 2011.. if i wasnt already running 1366 id go SB z68 chipset...if things go as most speculate BD will be good and equal SB in most...

Anybody thinking about this gigabyte x58 oc board

im thinking about swapping out my dfi board for this giga o/clock board... it seems to be an awsome board... the link is to the review of the board...ill sell my dfi and the difference would be about $150 bucks if the board comes out at 260-280$ like they say... im not going 2011 as as I plan...
