I had luck after I installed several AMD drivers and utilities, plus changed the power management mode seemed to help. I had to reinstalled and must have missed an update, so the problem exists again. I started using a cooling pad to reduce heat.
My M6811 had cracked plastic around the hinges, so E-Machines replaced the screen (had brightness issues).
