Let's see... The original OS was Windows ME. (Steaming pile of 5hit that it is.) Windows XP installed later, but its last use before it died permanently was in my modded Xbox. Edit: Not sure on the model number, trash went out today, so I can't go check. 40GB, 7200RPM though.

Won't Power Up

Well, I just bought a new motherboard today, an MSI K8N Neo4 SLI. It was the best cheap board they had at the gaming convention I was at. (Otronicon) Everything works like a charm now.

Are you sure all the hard drives are spinning up? Try only plugging in one at a time and see if detects them then.

Won't Power Up

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its the motherboard. It was overclocked, but the HTT was only at 255. Tried clearing the CMOS, and no, no beep codes. I'm gonna see if I can find a friend that'll let me borrow a motherboard..

If the problem is that Alcohol or Clone CD or whatever is blacklisted, than this program should do the trick. But I don't think that's your issue...

Won't Power Up

So the rig in my sig was going fine for about three weeks, then suddenly wouldn't boot up. I removed it from the case placed it on the cardboard, etc, etc, took out everything except one stick of RAM, the CPU, and the vid card, and it still wouldn't boot. I tired the PSU on another computer and...

HELP NEEDED for building a new PC please!

- Monarch is good. Check resellerratings.com for Ewiz. - Nexus is a brand. - Stock fan does not come preinstalled to the CPU or anything, so you'll just have a spare heatsink/fan (HSF) lieing around. - Note that the stock HSF is actually pretty good. Keeps my 3700+ cool at 2.8GHz and 1.5V...

XP 64-bit & Nvidia 7800GTX Crashing in Games

Last time I got multiple BSOD's with those errors, it was my motherboard. If you have a spare, throw it in, but if not, then you might want to wait for a little more advice before RMAing it.

Put it back in. If it works, great. If not, it's probably shorting out on the case. Check all the standoffs and screws, etc. etc. Check the manual to see what the ffh code means. EDIT: Psh, a minute late...

Silly question about DFI nF4 Mobos

It's technically not supposed to be able to, but if you can get your hands on an SLi bridge you can hardmod the chipset to be SLi by bridging two little thingys. (Highly technical word, I know) There's a few guides if you search.

Best possible overclock?

My RAM is stable at 2-3-2-6 at 2.8V, and my CPU hasn't blown up since I set it to 1.5V. We'll see how much I can get out of it at 1.5V when I have the time. Most likely not until Thursday or Friday, though. :(

OCZ Performance PC3200 2x1GB issue?

It might not be stable because the HT link multi (LDT multi, etc. etc.) is over 1000. Try setting it to 4x.

Need Alittle Help from the ELDERS

So your RAM is running at about 232MHz. 2.9V is usually safe on almost all RAM. Push it to 2.9V, then see if you can't get tighter timings. Also, the forth number in the x-x-x-x thing makes very little performance difference. Around 10 is supposedly ideal, but don't quote me on that.

You really think 1.5V is safe on stock cooling? I mean, my temps are fine, but... So does voltage not matter all that much as long as temps are low?

Best possible overclock?

It was running at around 1.425V, which is what my board is volting it to at stock for some reason. I know that's a little high for stock cooling, but I'm getting pretty good temps, so whatever. I did have to raise it to 1.45V to get it Prime95 stable, but at load it still won't go over 41C...

3700+ @ 2805MHz 255 * 11 = 2805MHz RAM at DDR333 ~ 200MHz at 2-3-2-10 @ 2.9V HT link at 4x Board max is 328MHz CPU max is about 2805MHz @ 1.425ish RAM max is 240MHz at 2.5-3-3-10 @ 2.9V RAM max is 225MHz at 2-3-2-10 @ 2.9V
