Really depends on what you want because they are drastically different games, I guess Skyrim would be better if you can spare long lengths of time and have the patience to really sink your teeth into the game, Skyrim will probably be a much more relaxing experience where you can take things at...

Why is there a greater consensus on quality games than on music, films, etc...

I don't think there's actually a greater consensus on which games are good than films... I would agree on music but that's because music is barely judged on it's technical quality and is mostly based on the emotional and social aspects it has so its appeal varies largely depending on the people...

Unreal Tournament - This game was amazing for it's time, incredibly fun multiplayer based gameplay with fast-paced arcade elements to it. Unreal Tournamet 2003/2004 were good but just not as impressive as the original game. Unreal Tournament 3 was decent I guess but just a dissapointment...

Windows 7 Performance

I feel Windows 7/Vista to be much snappier when opening applications and in general usage, Windows XP still has an edge in pure gaming performance but I'm willing to sacrifice a few frames for all the productivity Windows 7 offers, not to mention the extra speed in general system usage.

Copyright infringement protection. Many DotA heroes have names that belong to Blizzard (such as Pandaren Brewmaster), other game publishers (Rikimaru), anime creators and other third parties. Not to mention some DotA names are downright moronic, Pudge? Give me a break.

Anyone playing FFCC:MLAAD ?

They began as a minigame of sorts in the form of Starcraft/Warcraft maps and for what they were (just a fun map to blow off some steam after playing wc/sc) they were great but as standalone games they kind of suck.
