clearly this guy got ripped off and couldn't wait for actual release date. If his store let him buy it clearly they over priced it and sold it before street date. This won't be the case because prices from other actual legit websites say otherwise as what to expect when they actually hit the street.

second design flaw to hit the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070

Is it too much to expect not have this issue from a 700 dollar card? Changing settings everytime you reboot to me would be annoying as hell. If this was AMD they would get called out left and right lol. It's funny is it too much to ask from a company thats wants to charge premium for their card...

You guys know this card is going in to OEM systems. So they need a blower type reference design that can be mass produced and keeps the cost minimum but keeps the card within range of certain temperatures. Looks like thats what we are getting. Plain and simple, you want card thats cooler and OCs...

Not a mistake. They had to have a reference model because they have lot of oem's getting these cards as well and they had to price it cheap. The first impression they have to set it bang for buck. If that 229 stock it delivers 980 stock performance they have done their job. 229 sounds way better...

Not really about performance or anything. It was about instability being reported. AMD didn't give the official driver to reviewers until few days ago according to reports, probably to discourage early reviews looks like.

It is true. Anandtech article here on polaris says amd polaris based architecture will use gddr5 and hbm but amd disclosed gddr5 models will be used first so that means we will see low to midrange parts first and then high end and polaris will launch in mid 2016. But they refuse to believe it...

Apparently RX 470 cards won't be available on June 29th?

Looks like yields are good on the 480. By how many retailers are reporting getting stock already. I don't expect 470 to be available anytime soon if they can sell most of what they make as 480. They will probably be stashing the cut down chips to sell as 470 ofcourse but expect a month or two to...

Seems about right. Nvidia never gave an actual date for standard 1070 just founders edition. It think they didn't know a whole lot about amd strategy but left room to drop the price to 379 if needed. So instead of looking stupid they decided to launch with 2 editions. You will see more and more...

You telling me if its 100w during gaming at 1266, it can't cool around 160-175 with beast of a cooler and little overclock? I have heard these oh it can't happen scenarios. It won't blow up at that much wattage if they can put good enough cooling on it.

This is what amd tried to do with new Polairs front end. They wanted to make the shaders more efficient. I think you might see the card perform much better in dx11 and retain its performance in dx12 if they were able to achieve that.

some people don't want competition thats why, lol. They think this is the last card amd is making and there isn't anything else coming out rofl. Its stupid to think that their won't be another version of card at 2560 shaders, they aren't jumping straight to 3584 and 4096 shaders. Makes me laugh.

True, but you also have to compare clocks. RX 480 is not clocked 80% higher than 390x, you have to take that into consideration. It is not their high end part, we can compare rx 490 to 390x, see how that compares when it comes out. AMD has to leave room for higher end cards as well. Like I said...

Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Vapor X or Toxic Edition?

I dont know if its worth the extra money, most 270x with decent cooler will overclock the same regardless. I would save the cash and order the cheaper one. I personally like the msi and asus.

well here is what I did, I actually had a hard time getting the oc first, I actually had to flash it with evga ftw bios, the stock bfg bios had voltage of 1.12v under load when I read the bios with NiBitor, and when I read the ftw bios because I wanted to see if there was any voltage difference...
