Windows ME at 100% CPU utilization ALL THE TIME

I had a similar problem that was solved by re-flashing (with a different version) the bios of my mainboard. Check your manufacturer's website and see if anything like that has been reported.

Need help identifying video capture card - bt848kpf chipset

G19, you're the man! It's H9'Oh' instead of H9'zero'! Which means that this card is infact manufactured by Hauppauge...fcc search doesn't recognize the second part of the ID, but at least I've definitely got a lead on it.

I've searched all the usual suspects for any info on this card; Deja, fcc id search, google, altavista, etc...and can't come up with any good leads. It's definitely a video capture card of some sort. PCI bus, has 3 RCA Jacks (1 video, left and right audio) an S video DIN, two audio in or outs on...

plexter cd-rw can't get it to boot!!!!

I think you drink too much coffee grass! Yank all that junk out, then reboot with only the HD as primary master...then add the CDRW as secondary master and boot up...then add the CD-ROM as slave...the point is do it one at a time, and the component that it screws up on is the one you've got set...

WinME/Linux on IDE-RAID?

I was about to ask the same question...I'm sooo close to installing a modded Promise Ultra66/RAID card, and do a fresh install of Win2k and Linux on it. I'd imagine it's only a matter of specifying 'scsi controller' drivers at the beginning of the install like you would with any real scsi card...
