I took some pictures of my bios settings, hope this helps OP. IMHO I believe your issue maybe more thermal related than a power draw issue, since your throttling occurs while running at stock. One more note, even though it's not shown in any of the pics, I have my NB voltage set 1.3v instead...

From what I have read, it's not a temperature issue causing these FX processors to throttle but due more to the power draw of Bulldozer/Piledriver and a limitation of some motherboards to cope the excessive power draw that these chips are capable of when stressed, causing the boards VRM's to...

Aftermarket cooler for a HD 7950?

Aftermarket cooler for a HD 7950?

Here's my card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102962 , it usually runs in the upper 70's lower 80's depending on the fan speed. Lately I've been setting the fan @75% manually to keep it the temps under 80c, but it's fairly loud at that speed.

Getting artifacts in games. Bad card, or overheating?

Are you OCing your 7900GT?, if so back down on the clocks, also if you have Rivatuner, use it's hardware monitoring to check your temps while in play...your temps can easily drop several degrees within seconds once you exit to desktop.

Sounds like you need to reinstall your chipset/audio drivers. They will be on your driver CD that came with your motherboard.

Battlefield 2 or battlefield 2142?

For most part I enjoyed playing BF2, I haven't tried BF2142 yet...and probaly won't. 2Gb of ram makes a big difference in BF2 so I'm assuming the same goes for BF2142. Either one you choose, just be prepared for a lot of bugs and plenty of patches.

Ocing my Opty 165

i briefly had the same board, here's a quick review with some of the BIOS options...look for the "Genie BIOS" menu in your BIOS, you'll find all your overclocking options there. BTW...i got my Opty 165 to run @2.7ghz(300x9) on that board.

actually your score seems about right... http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q3/geforce-7900gs/index.x?pg=8 you will be able to get a higher score with your 7900GS with a higher OC, they tend to be great OCing cards.
