What's the story with multibooting 7 and XP? Is it the same as Vista? Can you do it with the student version?
I'm downloading 7 Pro x64 for students right now. I want to install it on a laptop that already a factory installed copy of XP on it. I want 7 to be installed on a separate...
I decided to get one last night and I couldn?t be happier. No dead or stuck pixels. No banding or ghosting. The colors really pop and I really enjoy the wider aspect ratio too. The viewing angles are poor but that?s no big deal since I sit right in front of the monitor when I?m using it...
I'm tempted to bite on this. I have a 5 year old 20" (1600x1200) Dell Ultra Sharp now. I really like it and I have no complaints whatsoever but I wonder if a newer monitor would give me a more vibrant image. By my calculations this monitor would have about 7.5% more screen area. I just worry...
I have to pay sales tax too but this is still a sweet deal. I think every card I've bought in the past 5 years has come with a game and for the first time I can remember this time t's actually a game I want.
Nice deal. I ordered 3 years of ESPN from them years ago on a similar deal and had no problems. Here's my order...
Road & Track - BDM-147000I-12-1-LP -
1 Yr 12 Issues - New order.
Item Cost: $3.75

Car & Driver - BDM-17000I-12-1-LP -

OK, here's the conclusion of this story... I ordered up an 8400GS ($18 from buy.com, sweet deal). Popped that baby in and the problem disappeared. Despite the evidence I'm still somewhat unwilling to say that the PSU was underpowered. This new card doesn't use the PCIe power connector, which...
Thanks guys. Sandra gave me the same results so I broke out the old multimeter. The 5 and 12V rails were perfect, even under load.
Now my questions is, does this prove my that PSU is good, or could there be other problems? For instance the voltages set in the BIOS do not seem to be...
The PSU in question is an Antec NeoHE 550W. According to SpeedFan my voltages are as follows...
Vcore1 (CPU): 1.41V (BIOS is set to 1.45V)
Vcore2 (RAM): 1.94V (BIOS is set to 2.2V)
+3.3V: 3.31V
+5V: 4.95V
+12V: 2.94V (that's not a typo)
-12V: -16.97V
-5V: -6.01V
+5V: 5.32V
Vbat...
They run fine for me at DDR2-900 and 5-6-6-18 on 2.1v. I'm running mine at DDR2-750 and 4-4-4-12 on 2.0v currently. This seems to be some damn nice RAM.
Thanks for the help guys. Here's some responses...
SerpentRoyal: I just got some new RAM from that SuperTalent deal. Now I have 2x2GB of that but still no better of an overclock. What would reloading the BIOS do for me?
kmmatney: Good point. And I only paid $77 (thanks ZZF!) so I'm...
This is really upsetting. Did I get the least overclockable E21xx chip of all time?
My E2160 runs great at 9x300 on under 1.4v. I can't get her going any faster though. Even if I bring the voltage all the way up to 1.525 I can't go above 310. I can get into windows at 320 but go BSOD in...
I appreciate the help. I have an incredibly hard time believing 450W isn't enough for the few paltry components in this case. But I don't have any better ideas. Tonight I'll try lowering the OC or maybe unplugging the optical drive just to see if that makes a difference.
So what's a 450W...
So like the topic says I can use my comp with no probs, I can reboot with no probs, but after I shut down I can't turn it back on again. If I open the case and unplug the HDD it will power up and then I can power down, reconnect the HDD and boot up normally. And once it's up, it runs...
That rebate seems to be for a slightly different model. Try this... http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesF.../Cavalry22-101-030Apr07Apr2107cd12.pdf
[edit] Nevermind. I just noticed it is Newegg only. Didn't see that at first.
I just got the 360 version for $20 from Amazon. The game is better than I was led to believe. I probably would have preferred the PC version but the game controls pretty well on a controller.
Go to officemax.com and search for 21209292.
I've never heard of Everex but this seems to be a much hotter deal than CompUSA's HP w/ Nvidia 7600 last week.
ZZF has is for $152 shipped free and no tax for those of us in NJ. It goes in and out of stock. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80106-R
I just got one a few weeks ago. It's a newer stepping I wasn't familiar with. I OC'ed mine to 2.7 on air with no prob.
Interesting theory. Thank you. I looked in the BIOS but didn't see an option for adjusting which rail feeds the USB.
Truth be told this PSU has been nothing but trouble since the day I bought it. Plus it's about 16 months old so maybe it's time for a new one.
I've been having several problems with my comp lately but I think I've narrowed down the possiblities. Lately I've been having system hangs so I lowered the OC on my GPU to stock levels and the problem went away. Everything was fine for a few days but now after a reboot I got a message about...
Thanks guys. I haven't had a chance to work on it yet. Reseating the memory modules sounds like a good idea. Memtest run funs fine and I doubt it's overheating -- temps are fine and it happens from start up.
My system is loaded as follows...
AMD Dual Core Opteron 165 @ 2.7GHz (300 x 9)
2 x 1GB OCZ Platinum DDR 3200 @ 225MHz, 2.5-3-3-8
DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra SLI-DR
eVGA 7900GT @ 700/1700
Fresh install of XP Pro
Here's the situation: Currently several programs and games hang but recover in...
