LCD Buyer's Guide

The 20WMGX2 is the complete opposite. It has an optibright screen which is a smooth, glossy coating which make colors look stunningly vibrant. It does have some glare issues.

LCD for graphics/CAD?

peace Ive got the same "dilema" really, not sure if i really should go for the widescreen. Good thing would be it that it would work for watching movies/tv which would be awesome. The thing is, is there such a display that is able to give performance that is enough for graphics/cad editing...

Will my system get a work-out with a 1680x1050 display?

You hit it on the nail on the head: SIZE! Looking at the tv calculator, the 20WMGX2 looks small in comparison to the 19" 90GX2. My second choice the Samsuing 204t which looks huge and seems to be considered the best all around monitor in that size range.I'm not a big gammer so the 16ms resonse...

Will my system get a work-out with a 1680x1050 display?

I won't be doing any heavy gamming. I do alot of 3D modeling design work though. BTW: Do you guys think the 20wmgx2 is a good all-around monitor considering that i'm not a gammer? I know it has an AS-IPS screen which is supposed to be good for colors, text, and video.

Well, I keep getting errors regarding the windows installer not being available when I try to install stuff. Also, right now my it looks like a stripped down version of XP. Does this change after activation.

I finished installing my Windows XP MCE 2005 SP2 and when I start up my pc i see the "activation key" on systems tray saying I have 30 days to activate Windows. I don't have internet access yet so I need to activate online but i can't find the activation window. Its not under start...

New first build..Can't install Windows XP MCE..Going crazy!

I tried a ripped versions of XP Pro and Xp Home and got similar results. I guess it could be hardware related but I just don't get it. So it's only able to read some data off the cd but not other?? Isn't it all just one's & zero's?!

Ok...Did #2 and #6, did 1st part of 8 (#3 & 5 don't apply). Only using one of the 2 memory sticks (#7). I don't have XP Pro so I can't do 1 or "edit 2", though because I'm faculty at my University, I can get a full version of XP Pro for $8.85! So I tried installing again with these changes and...

The CD went from the box staight to the drive so not a smudge. I'm booting off the WD Raptor not the Seagate, though that might be an issue later if I get this thing going!

No dice...set the memory voltage to 2.8v and got the "file\i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded error 7" the first time and the "STOP: 0xC0000221 unknown hard error C:\Winnt\System32\Ntdll.dll" BSOD the 2nd try. Ahhhhhhhhh!

I have it connected in the blue slot and it's fully seated. Remember, I tried a new PCI video card as well and I got the exact same response(non-response)/problem. There's a +5V next to the blue slot? All I see is the EZ Slot, PWR_FAN, and AUX. Could I possibly have bought 2 damaged cards?

Best card for 3D modeling/design and video?

I'm putting together a new system (my 1st build) and can't decide on the most appropriate video card for my needs. I'm looking to stay between $100-$150 but would spend up to $200 if its worth it. I do alot of 3D modeling/design/rendering with Solidworks and Pro/E. Don't do any high-end gaming...

I won't be overclocking so why the opteron 172 over the x2 +4400? Same specs. Is the opteron that much more reliable/stable? Also, does the Audoigy 2 ZS have Dolby Digital Live? I plan on connecting my card to my receiver.

I don't plan on OCing so I've got to decide based on stock specs so if the extra L2 is negligable then the X2 3800 is the best choice..I think? +200mhz & full motherboad compatability......
