Security bulletin[1] for these drivers. Looks like they fixed a few security related issues.

Typically one browser process isn't going to really load up more than one core. I'm not sure about the specifics of how Firefox handles how it chooses what to do with each process but I can't imagine it benifiting from the multiple processes in the way you're describing. They probably approach...
And what exactly did they do that was illegal? Trading on non-public information that you got from your own research and then announcing it is not illegal. How much you stand to gain may be up for debate however.
In all likelihood they were trying to short AMD stock by using the vulnerabilities[1]. Beyond this I'm not sure why everyone is so up in arms about this whole situation. CTS doesn't owe anyone anything and they don't have any obligation to whatever vendor they might be working on. You could...
You can still use group policy on Windows 10 to disable automatic download and installation of updates (which is what I assume is causing the reboots).
Open gpedit.msc as admin (you can use an admin command prompt for this if you like).
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates ->...
If you're looking for something simple to configure the built-in Windows Filtering Platform I've seen Simplewall[1] come up. It only has application granularity but it's good for blocking outgoing connections.
If you don't really care about the extra complexity of blocking outgoing connections...
Well installing an antivirus on your phone is just about the dumbest thing you can possibly do so I'm not sure how it helps them there.
I only see this as a way to appease third-party AV (enterprise clients?) which have been on their way out the door for a while now. There's really no reason...

I don't think it's as much of an issue as it makes it out to be.
This is basically just a test of SmartScreen/Google SafeBrowsing. It's odd that Firefox does not preform equally as well as Google considering they're both using the same lists. Chrome may be doing some checking of downloaded files that Firefox does not? I forgot the implementation...
It's completely normal. Keep in mind that your local data in your user folder contains cache data as well. Chrome has dynamic limits for cache size to prevent things from getting too out of hand.
Youtube definitely uses cookies. If you use uMatrix you can see that it uses them (and how many). The browser developer mode may be more useful in looking at cookies. Should even work with incognito windows.
Well it is kind of half killed. Pretty sure Chrome either is moving or has moved to a whitelist for sites which can use Flash. Pretty much everything now defaults to html5 and Chrome enforces this. I believe Firefox have a similar plan.
I think you're linking to the wrong article? We already have a thread on the KRACK exploit[1].

Just keep in mind with this flaw ALL DEVICES NEED AN UPDATE[1]. Just updating your router doesn't do it (and may in fact not even need an update). For example if you're using an extender or client bridge you will need to patch (e.g. AP <-> AP). This is mainly a client side problem so make...
Check the changelog for the latest uBlock Origin (the one you should be using) release[1]. It seems there is some interaction problems between the latest webextension version and some legacy addons (e.g. Greasemonkey). The author recommends disabling legacy extensions to see if that fixes the...
Ok? What's your point?
What's important about this attack isn't that they used Edge or any other piece of software. It's that the container that is the virtual machine was compromised and they were able to gain execution on the host.
It goes further than this. You have to make fundamental changes to how things like email is used such as making rules that say nothing will ever be sent through attachments.
It doesn't matter. Any software which could be compromised with an RCE can accomplish the same thing. Whether it's Edge or nginx doesn't matter. It doesn't reduce the impact of the bug in the VM layer.
It's a thing on Vista and newer[1]. On Windows 8+ the DWM cannot be disabled.
Considering "basic mode" was mentioned it's likely to be Windows 7. Basic mode doesn't exists in newer versions of Windows because the DWM is always enabled (and has software rendering for effects, etc).
I'm...
Flash control is being moved to chrome://flags you should still be able to disable it there. They're also moving to a whitelist with sites what Flash is allowed to run on without user interaction. I believe for all other sites it's moving to a "click to play" model. Furthermore they've also...
Keep in mind that when using something like uMatrix for blocking cookies, it doesn't block the cookie from being downloaded. It works by blocking it from ever being sent.
I do not believe that sites can access information from other tabs at will. It's probably limited to tracking through...
For the record all new EVGA 1080's or any card with the affected coolers should now have all the fixes for all of the problems that were brought up including thermal pads, memory pad contacts and (maybe) the bios update.
Doesn't matter since I doubt even if you use 2x/3x/4x Native or your monitors native resolution that it's really even stressing your card that much depending on what you have. You'll probably wind up using the OpenGL hardware renderer since that's the most complete and generally provides the...
Unless you're using grsecurity a chroot is not like a jail on linux. Privilege escalation's are not exclusive to Windows. They happen everywhere. That doesn't mean you should just give up and not practice defense in depth. Chrome/chromium does basically everything it can short of running in...
I don't see why you wouldn't still push a fix. It can be used as a method for a privilege escalation in the event of a RCE in a sandboxed or locked down process.
AMD would like to unify their driver stacks so it's possible they go the Nvidia route if this stuff doesn't get into the kernel. At least that seems to be where we're headed since this wasn't merged and it may make more sense for them to do if that's the only way that a unified driver stack...
The renderer and plugin processes shouldn't have access to anything. They have to go through the broker process.
On Windows they run at an untrusted integrity level which cannot access anything.
There's a generic overlay buster that ships with uBlock Origin[1] (works on all browsers). Not sure if that'll work but may as well give it a shot.
Install the extension and then under the my filters tab add something like this as a seperate line:
example.com##script:inject(overlay-buster.js)...
