I'm stoked they are dropping the price on the q9550 - sure it was "released" in January and still can't be bought ANYWHERE in the US but at least it is two bucks cheaper - that sure gives me the warm fuzzies.

I'm waiting for the q9550 as well. I contacted Intel - they claimed they were "released" in January believe it or not. I'm guessing they have a bug and Intel hasn't figured out how to fix them.
I think you'll see a HUGE increas in performance by upgrading to Windows XP. Get a spare hard drive - install XP and any other apps you use on a regular basis and find out how much faster your system can be - you already have a pretty nice system and this upgrade costs next to nothing.
