The biggest change for me was going from an old NEC 386/SX 20 to a P75 with 16MB RAM and 850MB hard drive. Win 3.1 never ran so fast!, it was awesome. I had a 4X CD-ROM also, fun times.
I recently set up my new machine with dual 19" Samsung 931C monitors. It is so nice to be able to have two applications open at once in front of me. As someone stated above I might have online banking open on one and Quicken open on the other etc. It's cool to browse two forums at once both in...
If that is the case then I would suspect you have a bad stick of RAM in your system, try running memtest86. That will tell you for certain. If the result does come up bad and you have multiple sticks of RAM in your system then you will need to test each one individually to find out which one it...
That is crazy. How many fast food franchises do you guys in the states have?!. Here in .au we only have a few, mainly McDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC, Hungry Jacks (Burger King) and Subway. There are also a couple of Krispy Kreme stores scattered throughout a couple of capital cities and I guess you...
What are the BSOD error messages you are getting?, they may provide some clue. Make sure to turn off automatic restart so you can read what they are saying.
Do you have the secondary four pin ATX plug plugged in?, the one that plugs into the board by itself. I had a similar thing when building a new box, it wouldn't post at all since I had forgotten to plug it in. :o
When it comes time for me to clean my keyboard I remove all the keys and rinse them in whiteboard cleaner, wiping each one down afterwards. It works a treat and the keyboard looks like brand new when I am done!.
I have installed CFLs in my place where I could. I would like to know what you are supposed to do with them when they die?, obviously just having them go into landfill is not a good idea.
I have been experiencing a similar problem with my girlfriends parents PC, it's an old P4 2.6GHz with an Asus VIA P4M800 based board. I think the board is stuffed, it just locks up on boot most of the time with no error. However it has given this error once .
I think you should be happy with the service the drive has given you. I do have a couple of machines with old seagate 10GB drives (circa 2000) that are still going which copped about 5 years of 24hr/day use.
That is one tough looking car. It's nice to see Ford getting back to decent styling both here in Australia (FPV Falcons are very nice) and in the states. They've been off track for a long time.
I always leave my originals at home, I only keep burned copies in the car. I mainly do that since I don't want my originals stolen, also it stops them from getting damaged. Especially since the car gets so damn hot when it is parked.
I can only imagine how horrific that would smell. I want to know how they obtained the whale in the first place. I'm guessing they must have hunted it down...
I've never lived any closer to my job than at least 20 mins commute. Most of the 5 years that I have worked there has been a 30 min commute each way. I prefer to live in a more desirable area that is closer to my friends anyday!. I also find the drive home is a good way to unwind after work.
My first pentium PC was also the first machine I ever assembled for myself. It was a Pentium 75 with 16MB EDO RAM, 800MB HD, 8x CD-ROM, ESS 1868 Sound Card and a 2MB video card. The screen was a KTX 15" CRT that was horrible to look at. It took us 5 days to get the machine running stable. We...
I'll be interested to see what comes of this. It looks stupidly fast in the video. They're making some pretty big claims, let's hope they can back them up.
I am seriously thinking about getting one of these for myself. I absolutely used to love my old Model M, pity the spacebar died. I would love it if they came in all black, I think the grey keys contrast too much against the black body, I do have a couple of beige boxes here that I could get a...
I have neighbours like that in the building next door. They usually end up screaming at each other out in the street. I always crank up the stereo. It must be worse considering there is only a wall between you.
