The person in question is really a contract worker. Your idea of having the Iraqis leave their country shows your cognitivie ineptitude. What other country will let them in? That still leaves Iraq as a mess for someone to clean up.
Well, the difference between liberals and conservatives is how they spend other people's money. As to how much they spend, I think it's pretty much a toss-up.
Actually, it was due to advances in medical science that allowed people to live longer such that heart disease would manifest themselves eventually. If people die off when they're young, they won't have complications of heart disease.
I beg to differ on both accounts. People can be encouraged to do one thing or another through taxes and tax incentives. As for government footing the bill for obesity complications, most of the patients I see at the hospital are on medicaid or medicare. If that's not the government footing the...
Guess who picks up the bill for the health complications? Yup, the government (ie, all of us). So why shouldn't the government try to do something about it?
I think the idea that once you turn 18, you're a full-fledged adult is ridiculous. We should have a standardized way of imparting "adulthood" on young people. Perhaps something along the lines of some test that most people should be able to pass by the time they're 18. Some people will pass it...

So why does the US government recognize marriage? If it was a religious thing, then people would have their ceremonies and not go sign government documents later.

2) Siddhartha
3) Mahavira
4) Smith
5) Hubbard
The only reason a child would get freaked out by gay people is because his/her parents are visibally freak out in front of said child. Children are in a tabula rasa state and will more than likely follow the beliefs that their parents hold.
It's not necessarily a Christian right. It's more of a governmental right at this point in the US. The problem is the following: why should the government recognize any marriages at all?
The president sure has warped priorities. He went on national television to put his support behind a constitutional ban on gay marriage, yet what about his proposed $2 trillion budget? What about the issues with Iraq? What about the job hemorrhage to other countries? Seriously, this guy needs to...
