If you are getting near your 10megabits off-peak, then the fact you are only get 1 during peak times doesn't indicate you or your ISP have cabling or hardware issues. More than likely, you have one (or more) neighbors who are sharing the same line back to the cable company and are heavy users...

Never understood the whole "if you slice by half, you'll never reach zero".

It IS pretty dumb to think that you'll never reach the wall. It is even dumber to think that mathematicians actually believe this. It is dumber still to not realize the whole situation is a rigged set-up designed to show that common and "obvious" assumptions can lead to false conclusions.

Anyone failed a vision test?

My vision is absoutely horrible (required surgery when I was 3, and until they invented polycarbonate I wore coke bottle glasses)-- yet I was still able to pass the vision test sans presciptive eyewear... so I'm guessing if you failed it you need to see an optometrist, STAT!

My daughter's service dog took a huge dump at Walmart yesterday.

I really fail to understand why you would even think Walmart has an obligation to pick up your dog's pile of shit at all, beyond doing it as a courtesy and not wanting to gross out other customers. If I take my dog to the park and he takes a dump, I don't expect anyone else to pick it up but me.
