Ok, I have learned that you really must press F6 and load the Asus SATA drivers as I was told, and as to the drives I have, I learned you must also update the firmware on the drives. This was a first for me. Not any fun!! I still have only 1 drive accepting SP2 without causing boot errors, and...

Are Maxtor drives bad???

I have what looks to be 2 bad maxtor drives. Is this possible? Both are brand new just out of the box. Windows will install and load ok, and reboots just fine, but when I load the drivers from the Asus disk, or the SP2 upgrade, or any other file, it won't boot. Gives me various corruted file...

Am I going nuts?

Orian and Sparky, If I press F6, how would I find the drivers? What drivers would I look for, are they on the Asus CD? Under what name? At this point I dont want to do raid, I just want to make those 2 drives work properly.

OK Jorakal, heres the scoop. Somewhere on one of the forums I remember seeing something about Maxtor drives giving errors running under Nvidia nForce 4 drivers. I just dont remember the details, I only read it in passing. After I had problems, I went to the Maxtor Knowledge base and saw a blurb...

Failing 7200.8

Well,wtf, I just bought 2 200GB SATA Maxtors to use as raid 0 in my new as yet unstarted rig.Got em cheap, $90 bucks apiece. So now I bought junk??? I have been using Maxtors for years now with no probs. Had plenty of probs with other peoples WD and Seagate drives tho. So, say it aint so...

A8n32 sli deluxe

Hey, thanks a lot Capt caveman, theres enough info there to make my head spin. But is there any tips on the AMD 64 4800X2 cpu? I'm an old computer freak past my prime, and all this OC stuff is new to me, you couldn't do this stuff 15 years ago.

Hi all, It's up, running Sandra burn-in , CPU shows 41C and mobo 42C. I need OC info on AMD 4800X2, and mem settings. Also a good free stress tester would be nice. Any help would be good. Thanks!!

An832 sli deluxe....EZ Plug

well, my A8N32 sli deluxe has that "EZ Plug" thingy, and another 4 pin plug labled 12VDC up near the CPU. I plugged one of the 4 pin drive connectors into the EZ Plug, and the PSU had a 4 pin plug with 2 yellow and 2 black wires,(assumed these to be 12 VDC) which I plugged into that 12 VDC...

OK, what is this EZ Plug, what does it do, and how do you use it? I have an Antec True Power 2.0 550 W, and no mention in it's instructions. Do you simply plug into the 4 prong power plugs?

Got my new A8n32 sli deluxe

I'm a little leary of trying to flash the bios if not needed, I've heard a few horror stories. Is setting up 2 Raptors in a striped array so hard? More horror stories! I would appreciate any advise, I think I'm gettin too old for this stuff!

Hi n7. Are u pretty confident about this? I've re-read it and still not sure. I would buy this board (if I can find it) instead of the A8n32-sli deluxe (which I definitly cannot find). Not being able to use 2 7800GT's is a problem tho. Sigh!!........Life is hard sometimes.

Just read an Anantech review on this new board by Asus(A8R-MVP). Now I am confused! Did they say they tested that board with a GeForce 7800GTX? I know it's supposed be be an ATI Crossfire board, but does it work with geforce too? Some body please read this review and tell me what i read, please.
