hi,
I have mDP / Thunderbolt 2.0 output (K2100) and I'd like to get 4K 60P (FPS)
what Monitor to get?
I need it for work, so IPS would be preferable.
Size 27"+
thanks
I never had any issues with Sonata built in Antec PSU 500W
till I upgraded to Antec TruePower Series 750W 80+ Gold :'( for better video card that takes more power
test your PSU while you can return it
original Antec PSU had worked for 1st 2 weeks and later it required 2-3 system resets to get video card to work.
However, after boot was good Windows sleep works, so it was kind of solution.
over time it got worse, so RMA
while RMA process Thermaltake has used without any issues.
the...
I tried 6850 card that has 2 6pins and PSU works Ok
but when 7970 that uses 2 8pins it just doesn't work
the PSU has 750W with 4 8pins and suppose to feed enough power to just one video card
any ideas?
hi,
somehow this PSU doesn't work for my 7970, the card doesn't "boot" - it doesn't show anything at bios boot and nothing after in Win7
when another PSU in use Thermaltake 750 or SeaSonic 660 no issues at all.
back to Antec and video card just doesn't work, or might start working after 3-5...
thanks for the reply and link
looks like this HVEC might get in new GPU that might get to market in Q2 or Q3
and unless there are some 4k BD hardware, no incentive for GPU producers
hi,
which MB would you recommend for HTPC that has 1 pcie dual tuner OTA and needs HDMI output
with 5 drives - 1 small ssd boot and 4 hdd in RAID5
I know about Intel matrix that part of z77-z97 chipset, but I'm not aware of anything like that on AMD chipsets
I think that 2 cores will be...
hi,
the RevoDrive 350 was reviewed by so many a month ago and it was announced to be released by end of April. But, nothing happened.
Then release was pushed for next 2 weeks and again and now to July.
Is it real product? or just paper launch?
Are there other alternative for this product...
thanks for the reply.
I have to use cases:
1. new MB that has 2 SATA-3 and those are used for SSD, no needs for SATA-3 speed, but need for extra SATA port to attach BRay RW drive. I think SATA-2 speeds would work just fine, so x1 is Ok
2. old MB with SATA-2 ports only that needs SATA-3...
Hello,
Would you recommend pci express x1 sata card?
I need to connect BR Drive over SATA.
My MB all SATA ports are taken already, I need extra port.
It would be nice to get eSATA as well, but only nice to have.
Which brand and card to get?
My main concern is that people complained...
wow, that is good, but expensive solution to run SLI on that MB
CPU and video cards use water cooler and as result single slot usage per video card that opens space for connectors
No, I can't go this way, I don't like personally water cooling due to water leak risk - just me.
XE3 has bad composition
what's the point to have 3 PCI-e if yiou can use just one, middle slot only
the 1st is to close or even overlaps with CPU HS, so it can't be used
the 2nd is too close to SATA ports that any modern video cards that takes 2 slots (which isn't?) overlaps on top of SATA...
for HTPC users - keep in mind that MCE isn't part of Win8 any more - you have to get it in addition as a pack with another activation that you can get for free for Win8 Pro till 01/31/13 and activate by that day
thank you for the reply.
I agree with you about traditional OC school.
I'm not looking for the most OC I can get from my 3770K, but get something, while keep all power savings when I don't need whole power.
I'm Ok with trade off to have 100 or 200 MHz less for not fixed multiplier.
What are...
hi,
Would you guide me about how to OC 3770K on tz77xe3 ? Pls.
So far I just changed Turbo to 43x for all 4 cores and got 4.3Ghz stable.
Prime95 below 70C, while IntelBurst below 80C
Please, take a look at attached pics...
Hi all,
I have G.SKILL Ares DDR3 1866 (4x8Gb) in Biostar tz77xe3 mb
the best I can do is to select X Profile 1 on stock 1.5V
Any one was able to OC this RAM to 2000? And how?
tnx
I've worried about "bad" test results of 840 Pro 512G that suppose to be fixed by newer firmware
how much I'll loose by going 830 vs 840 Pro?
will extra $100. get me better speed and etc for 840 Pro vs 830?
Hi all,
I don't want to create another thread for he same matter.
Is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008
recommended card to get?
Thanks.
hi all,
I did OC for i7-860 a long time ago and what I remember it was trade-off that I had to disable "turbo" to be able OC - that was some stepping or etc - I don't remember.
Is it different for 3770k?
When you OC to 4Ghz, what will be "turbo" speed?
tnx
hi,
would you recommend PSU for this card? Please.
In addition to 512Gb SSD my planned system will run 4 3T HDD in raid.
No, system will not be 24/7, something about 3-5 h/day.
It's HTPC with gaming ability ;-) to output to 1080P LCD TV through 7.1 receiver via HDMI.
Thanks.
hi experts,
what RAM of 4 Gb or 8 GB per stick to get for z77?
What to look for when selecting RAM?
So far I see that RAM has to run at 1.5V due to Z77, so any OC RAM at 1.65+ will be out of scope. Is this correct?
What timing? CAS? etc are important?
I'm looking for performance...
Do I need this Marvell 88SE9172 chip to be on MB for my needs?
I don't need extra on top of 2 + 4 SATA
Does this Marvell 88SE9172 chip adds extra 4 or 6 SATA to standard Intel 6 SATAs?
tnx
No, I don't want any exotic.
Just plain and good RAID for 4x3TB HDD RAID, with SSD for boot
What MB would be good?
Would be nice to have MB with USB3 front panel that can be used instead of floppy or etc on standard case.
Yes, 2 PCIe v.3 would be good to be able add 2nd GPU later.
tnx
Hi all,
Please, help me to select MB based on:
1. CPU 3770K
2. PCI-E v 3.x for something like HD7890 or HD 7950 or later HD8870
3. in addition to 2 SATA-3 (6Gb) has to be 4 SATA-2 for HDD RAID 5
4. USB3
I don't really need NAS that BTW costs from $500.
Will be just MB based RAID 5...
Thanks everyone for the reply
Intel promised Ivy Bridge E for 2012 and pushed it to 2013 as well
I understand that desktop market has been shrinking ...
Looks like many dropped any new till Dec 21 2012 till someone will guide about what and how to do after ...
hi all,
Any updates about when AMD / ATI will release HD8870?
Will it be this year?
I see 79xx on sale around $300 mark, does it mean its to clear 79xx inventory before 8xxx?
in this case
what IB would be most cost efficient to get?
yes, I'll disable GPU on it
I'll use air only - to get it close to 4.5 GHZ on about same voltage - no increase as IB doesn't like over voltage on air
so many numbers so easy to get lost
yes IB-E would be good alternative, but
1. will...
thanks everyone for your answers ;-)
that was my misunderstanding
why to pay for CPU with GPU that takes 20 - 30% of die that will not be used in desktop with discrete GPU?
What other options?
Looks like there are no other options as i5/7 with GPU on die (dead or alive) cost less than Xeon that...
hi all,
In past about 2 years all consumer CPU got GPU in same die - SB or IB.
But, what to use for desktop / workstation / gaming PC?
Anyway desktop will need dedicated GPU card as IB 4000 isn't near mid range GPU card.
Why to pay for integrated GPU that will never be in use?
Will Xeon SB or...
yes, I'll get better GPU - not sure which one yet - need help with that choice as well.
I use direct LED LCD 52" TV (xbr 909) - I might upgrade
As for audio - I use Pioneer VSX via HDMI of ATI GPU - not sure what else can be done here  it's digital to digital audio receiver with Ok DSP...
thank you everyone for education
my 2nd part of story -
0. I have to spend money this (tax) year
1. yes I7 860 provides enough juice - even handbrake can't tax it
2. yes I have some limitations from my video card - it's mid range so it's expected
3. I use SATA3 SSD, but NO can't use it at full...
so far I know that Intel increases GPU power in Haswell vs Ivy
anything else new will be in Haswell vs Ivy that would be useful for desktop?
sure - Haswell would be much better tablets and none gaming laptops
tnx
