Agreed. Just that when you convert $10 to India rupees, they look like a lotttttttttt ! After a bit of googling, Im convinced that Fortron is the way to go. Given my setup, do you think the 350w one I listed above will do the trick ? Newegg mentions this : +3.3V@22A, +5V@21A, +12V1@18A...

The first Fortron I mentioned was the FSP series, if that is what you meant. I guess then that is a good option. I just hope they do not burn at 240volts that I will use them in India. Thanks for all the input guys in my various threads. You guys rock.

I need to get a good PSU because of my new PNY 9600gs. I have a AMD dual core 3600 (enery efficient), have two hard disks and two cd drives and 4 fans. I will never ever do SLI nor do I ever overclock any of my stuff. My budget is about $30 (yes, you read that right) and Im adamant about not...

Well blackperl, the bad news is that I never concentrated on my PSU when I got it in India last year. Now that I understood more about the need for cleaner and better power on the comp, I see that that one I got can deliver 9A on the 12v rail !!! Pathetic. I think it is barely driving my AMD...

How much is 170 watts more in a pc translate to monthly bill charge?

Mighty confused about memory speed timings !

Im mighty confused by these memory numbers that I read in the forums. What does my Memory Timings mean as reported by Everest below ? What do the four numbers signify (I could make out that the fist one is CAS speed). I tried my system at 1T and it seems stable. Should I tweak anything else ...

Newbie : Is WinXP 32 bit worth it on a AMD64 machine ?

I have Seagate 80GB 7200 RPM ATA133 drives (Not sure if it is 2MB or 8MB) for the boot disk. Chipset drivers (nForce) are installed. Do you feel that moving to a SATA disk will make a jump in speed ? That aside, I have a wierd idea that a bigger disk might be a tad slower that a bigger...

Can one IDE have 2 hard disks capable of different speeds ?

What R the symptoms when non-capable memory is pushed to cas 2 ?

Problem is solved. I was having all kinds of reboots and crashes inside WindowsME. The machine would always boot up into windows and then it would start acting funny. Windows XP would not install at all though. Moving from Cas 2 to Cas 2.5 solved all the problems thought. Thanks a lot for all...

HELP !!! Is the Athlon unstable or is my machine Jinxed ?

Thnaks a lot, Markfw900. I moved from cas 2 to cas 2.5 along with changing the bios setting to enable "Configure SDRAM by SPD". Rebooted. Lo and behold, XP decides to install normally and the machine is up since then. Thanks again for solving this.
