I see and EVGA Video Card on your system, Matt. Good 4 U. It have been shown to have the highest speeds. I have in my current system and 5200 256MG video card and runs Q4 nicely. I'll tell U a secret, thou: In order to file a warraty claim to EVGA, you have to pay. Have a good one.

Strange Hardware problem

I have in the past exactly the same problem and I deal with it as follows. 1. Scan for errors the HDD--> No result. 2. I them made a dual boot with XP and I scan and defragged the HDD partition from XP. Problem resolved. Hope this helps.

I used the Video Card for ~ 2 months with no problems. Overheating? Welll hope not!! I run the PC in the basement with no home heating (very cool enviroment). The Video Card have "on it" a 120mm fan. What will happen on summer?!?! BTW, I replaced the card with my old 64 MB and ran quake4...

I'm having HD probs. I can't pinpoint the problem

The boot is controlled by the BIOS. You may try two things: 1. Clear the BIOS (by pin or removing the battery) 2. Update the BIOS. Also, considered to replace the MB battery. May be worn out or is passing away. Hope this helps.

Just tried to play Quake 4 the rig will not play it :-(
