I'd say the vast majority of video cards work on this board. I have a 7800GT and I've seen X1900XT and plenty of others in peoples signatures. If the board only accepted an X300, that'd be pretty useless :)

You can do a repair install of XP but its never as nice as a nice fresh clean install, and if you run into any problems, you will just never know if its due to the repair over-install or whatever. I have done several repair over-installs and usually they are fine, although not with X64, always...

My SATA I/F decided to go funny and now I sitck to my SATA II and all seems perfect, I dont think my SATA I/F was ever really 100%, I was using IDE then switched to SATA and boot issues and all sorts, plopped it into SATA II, perfect :o) Spread Spectrum, I have no idea what it does...

Try just one stick of ram in various slots, see if that helps, then when it does come up, get your bios updated, I'm sure I have read some bios issues have long and wierd cold boot issues. I will say though, my board sometimes sits at the black screen for ages, well 20 seconds then fires up...

I thought all the dual core chips were revision E :) I might be wrong, but you wont have any problems with the chip and board. Pop the latest bios on if you want.

Well, A P4 2.4 is pretty pants, not total rubbish, but not the best gaming chip by a long chalk :) Any A64 will slaughter it in gaming performance! But also as ever games depend on your graphics as well, I did also read BF2 really likes the oldie 2GB ram :) I'd have honestly thought you should...

Hiya, I use an Artic Cooler 64 Pro no problems at all. I also read these coolers fit to AM2 sockets! :)

Updating a bios in windows just sounds plain wierd! I'm sure plenty of people do it asnd goes to plan perfectly, but me, maybe I'm an old fashioned kinda bloke, dos for bios updates. other than DOS is invariable safer to do << you said it yourself :)

Bios 1.9 out does: Modify for AM2 memory code Also a side note, If I run my SATA drive on SATA 1 socket, in non raid mode, its random if it boots up, cold or warm boot, if I put the drive into Raid mode, boots 100%, so to install xp I install in non-raid so I dont need the drivers...

Hi ya, I think its all to do with the power management, cool & quiet enabled and not working quite right. I used it and it gave me more performance in games. Look for WindowsXP-KB896256-v3-x86-ENU.exe Or the really easy way is to disable C&Q.
