pwrstick, do you have an update on that part they are sending you? I sent an email to samsung but not reply, and i really dont like ringing big organisations as they always put you on hold which would cost me A LOT of money. So I'll only ring them if that part you are receiving is a huge...

A refurb unit doesnt sound too attractive to me either. Guess I'll stick with it for now, and experiment with it in the future.

Hi, I was just about to post the same topic before i found this. I bought this monitor back in February, and since then I've noticed the screen gradually sinking under its own weight. It would appear the "upper" hinge isn't strong enough to support the screen, but the lower hinge is working...

120mm Fan for a case

By "Positive" pressure, do you mean more air entering the case than is being exhausted? And i'm assuming negative pressure is more exhaust, less intake?

Yeh...thats why I think my sensors may be broke....or off.....or encapsulated in some kind of molten lava :) Think I might just stick a thermometer in there and see what temps i get. edit: i just stuck my hand inside my case and it certainly doesn't feel like 45C....maybe it has something to...

I'm pretty sure its not the NB temp. My BIOS, along with Corecenter and Speedfan list the 45C as System Temp. Anyway, i tested out a couple more configurations: 120 fans (front intake, rear exhaust) at 5V : 45C 120 fans at 12V: 38C 120 fans at 5V + Side 92mm fan at 12 : 33C (however, this...

Ambient/Case temp?

I'm using the mobo sensors. At idle, my cpu is at 28C (using cool and quiet) but my case temp reads as 45C (using two akasa amber 120s at 5V). Is that case temp reading too high? Is 45 even safe? Here are the important specs if they're of any help Athlon64 3200 (socket 754, stock...

Ambient/Case temp?

Just wondering what ambient case temp is deemed reasonable/safe, as I'm trying to get the right balance between having a quiet and a cool pc. I'm just worried about overheating if i set my two 120 fans to 5v, which brings me to an ambient temp of 45C, but gives me a near silent pc. Thanks

How to determine fan size?

Yes, fan sizes are measured along the sides. I hear Nexus fans are the quietest (but that means less airflow), but since i live in the UK, those are very difficult to obtain. Instead, i opted for the Akasa Amber fans, which are amazing (barely louder than nexus fans, but more airflow)...

Fan Controller for Thermaltake Tsunami case?

I think I'm gonna go for the HardCano 13, but i can't find any online retailers that stock it (note I'm from the UK). I'd rather not use ebay, but i will do if i can't find it anywhere else. Thanks for the suggestions!

Fan Controller for Thermaltake Tsunami case?

I've recently begun replacing my stock TT case fans with some Akasa Amber ones, and I'm looking for a fan controller as well to help reduce the noise further. However, i need one that will fit in the 5.25" drive bays and allow the front door to close properly as well, preferably with an LCD...

Best 120mm fans

I've just read up on the new Arctic Fan 8, 9, and 12 models, and everything was looking good.......until i read that they only work as exhaust fans. I'm currently looking for some fans as well to replace my stock Thermaltake Tsunami ones, but theres too many too choose from....

I live in the UK, and no online sites seem to have any Panaflo fans. How are Zalmans? Will i notice a huge difference compared to the stock thermaltake tsunami fans?

LCD Buyer's Guide

Well, I'm from the UK, so it might not help much, but i ordered from komplett.co.uk. My monitor was shipped with 2 cables, a DVI-A to D-Sub cable, and a DVI cable. However, the DVI cable is listed as "Sold Separately" in the user manual, so i don't know whether it was meant to be packed in there...

I used to own a CRT, and whenever i moved the speaker bass/subwoofer thing with the volume control toward it, it would create purple tint around that edge of the screen, the effect being stronger the closer they are together. I'm assuming this has something to do with the electromagnetic...

Samsung 970P first impressions

I got my Samsung 970P in today! First of all, just want to say that this is my first LCD, so i can't really compare it with any other ones to give a reflection of what this is capable of. Ok, first impressions.....VERY GOOD! No backlight bleeding whatsoever, blacks appear very black...

Thanks for the reply, think I'll buy the 970P since its only an extra £50 over the 940B (i live in the UK). On a side note, whats this twinkling effect i've been reading about? It seems that all LCD monitors exhibit this effect, will it really affect my dvd watching that much?
