Ultra X-Finity 500W PSU $20AR

people are very uninformed. the old ultras (x-connect) probably 10% failed new ultras (x-finity, v-series, x2-connect) more like 1-3% fail I just installed my x-finity and so far it's great, between 5-10dB quieter than my x-connect was

ATI Catalyst 6.7 out!

I also am experiencing a big drop in frame rate on my x800 pro with 6.7, on top of that the Catalyst control center will not even run. tried reinstalling twice. what version is half decent? I've been using 6.6 but now I wonder if that was flawed too.

Ultra-x 500W PSU (green) - FAR before shipping

it is only a single rail. there is SATA power cables in the box, 2 of them. for pci-e you'd have to get a molex to 4/6 pin adapter if your card takes external power, if not a 20 to 24 pin adapter cable I'm running my pci-e video card using an adapter off it, and the psu is slowly dying, but...

Whiney switch 8 port

Whiney switch 8 port

Got this for the cost of shipping from newegg and the thing whines horribly all the time. Is there any way I can silence this thing? what is whining? constant white noise when operating like it's on fire or something.

CellFactor Demo released and REQUIRES the PPU, can anyone test this?

sweet! I got it working.. have to install the ageia physX drivers regardless of if you have the card or not. oh, and you know that ageia logo at the bottom right corner of the game when you're playing? you can remove it by opening Artificial/cellfactor/cellfactor/scripts/base/GameCore.cs...

is this the same 400MB video they released a few weeks ago without any physX requirements? the same cellfactor trailer we've seen since the divx version came out? a while ago I downloaded a 400MB video file that was a larger version of their 'hd' version. the 400MB was 1280x resolution

3700 Clawhammer idles at 50c, load 65c

I have a clawhammer 3700+ and it runs somewhat hot also.. mine idles @ 40C with an aftermarket cooler, case temp of 25C under load it tops out at ~ 55C

memory timing problem

ok, I manually forced the clock to 200MHz, CAS 3.0, 4 beats and the performance was horrible so, 200MHz, CAS 2.5, 4 beats.. slightly better. the weird part is... memory is still at 159.5 mhz.. even though I set it to 200MHz is my best option just pulling the 512MB and running at CAS 3 so...

memory timing problem

Capacitance based switches

yeah I really can't find any 80mm fans that move as much air as the stock ones do and still be more quiet. I guess I'll just live with it until I can afford a seasonic

Fan timers

atleast I finally understand how they work. The thing is hooked to the MB fan power connectors & the ATX power leads. so, it's drawing it's power from the 'ready' 5V connection. So, it undervolts the fans @ 5V after the system stops, then switches to the 12V MB power once it's running. I...
