@tman7: Did you do the CPU voltage mod OR the BSEL 266Mhz FSB mod? There's a big difference between the two. The 266Mhz FSB mod does nothing to the CPU except trick the motherboard into thinking it's a 1066Mhz (QDR) FSB cpu. I recommend trying the BSEL pin mod before purchasing the other...

adding eSATA

Well, I ended up plugging a regular CRT into the VGA port, and the HDTV component out worked. So problem solved. However, it looks like crap at 1080i, at least text. Ah well, video looks alright.

I forgot to mention that the 9-pin HDTV Component output cable that came with the card is fairly loose when I plug it into the card. It consistently falls right out if I tug on it gently. It's as if it's not pushed in all the way. From what I can tell, however, I put it in as far as it can go.

I guess the other consideration would be to not upgrade at all and wait for a newer platform. I mean, there's only one potential upgrade I seeing to the S939 system, and that would be a dual core X2. Because the MMOs I play now are all 2-3 years old, they're still quite playable on a 9800Pro...

I mainly play MMOs, which require a ton of memory. Planetside, for example, is accessing my Hard Drive quite often when I turn the texture qaulity to the highest setting, at 1680x1050. This is causing a lot of game stutter, especially in 200+ people fights.
