My old mobo crashed, and I picked this up. The PC feels different... I dunno... Anyways, it says it supports X2 cpus, but does it have a limit? My old Gigabyte listed what it supported up to. I was thinking of getting an X2 4800, maybe the 5000? Not sure yet. I just want to make sure it will...

Need monitor help, not hardware related.

Firefox seems to have burned an image of it self into my monitor. It's barely visable, kinda like those 2 lines that come on some flat screen CRTs. But I've got a ViewSonic Va902b. Is this something permanent, or can it be fixed?

Just switched to LCD....

I've had a CRT ever since I had a computer (when Red Alert 2 was a new release), so it's been sometime. I just got a View Sonic 19" LCD for $169 after rebates from Office Depot. There is 1 dead pixel, but you can barely see it because of my wallpaper. The monitor is great, but it seems weird...

Logitech G7...in black?

I'm planning on getting this with a G15 keyboard. If you google the mouse, you can see a few pictures in black. Looks sweet, finally something other than shiney green.

Should I upgrade?

Well I don't have any cooling with my current system. AMD A64 3700 SD, 2GB PC-3200, BFG 7800GTX 256MB, Antec Sonata case. I was thinking of getting an P180 Antec case, Arctic Cooling Silencer, and 2 Vantec Iceberg copper RAM spreads. Should I make the jump? It would cost around $150.

$400 budget for some parts.

My friends PC died, so he wants a new one. Mainly internet and some PC gaming. Actually the only games he wants are Oblivion, HL2, Age of Empires 3, and maybe a sports game. Doesn't really care if the graphics aren't the best, he wants the game playable. I'm giving him some stuff of mine. So...

AntiVir considers TweakNow Reg Cleaner a virus?

I have Kaspersky on a disc. I got it along with CyberScrub. I never used it though, because the version I have barely has a UI. I could never really tell what was going on so I haven't used it. Should I switch?

AntiVir considers TweakNow Reg Cleaner a virus?

I just installed TweakNow Reg Cleaner, and before I could even run it, AntiVir kept popping up saying it was a Worm/Trojan. It's an updated version of TNRC, maybe it has a flaw? If not, what's a good alternative Registry cleaner thats free?

AVG Finding 16 Viruses

AVG has currently found 16 viruses in my Sun/Java folder. Would it be safe to delete them? Because I know some virus/spyware programs target wrong programs and folders.

Hard time installing windows.

This seems complicated for a new motherboard. It's probably something I shouldn't be doing to avoid ruining it. What would running memtest do? I have no idea how to use that either.

Hard time installing windows.

I got Windows to install, but I'm getting errors left and right. I try to install SP2, some files can't copy. I try to run a program from the CD, and I get some error, can't continue. I wonder if the HD is corrupted or something.

Hard time installing windows.

Chaintech Zenith Value Edition VNF3-250, AMD Sempron 2600, 1GB PC 3200, DVD/CDRW, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, 120 GB Seagate HD. Windows XP Home... I just got the motherboard and CPU the other day. I'm building an internet PC for my father, and I'm just giving him some of my older stuff along with it.

computer wont boot, CPU or MOBO fried ?

Make sure your mobo isn't screwed directly into the case.

Hard time installing windows.

So I built the PC, and so far so good. Except for some minor errors. One of them is ACPI? Telling me the BIOS doesn't fully recognize it. It tells me to update the BIOS, or press F7 to skip. So I do it, and I get to the install windows screen. Half way through the installation it then tells...

I need a cheap "internet" PC (cpu/mobo combo)

I think I'm going to go with the Chaintech/Sempron combo $130 and 2 day shipping is hard to beat.

It's for my father. All he does is go online, check email, and make music CD's. What's a good combo for around $150? I'm giving him my old ram (PC 3200), DVD rom, HD, graphics and sound card. So that's out of the way. So I guess what I'm looking for is an ATX mobo with a Sempron chip?

Quick question about Outpost.com

Ok they're sold out. That sucks. I'm looking at an AMD Sempron 64 3000 for $75 from Newegg. Should I get an ECS 755-A2 v1.0 for about $45? For a few dollars more I can upgrade and get a BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 combo and save $10. It looks to be better, but it would use on board video rather than...

Yeah he's got an old Dell that like 4 years old. I've got parts to an old gaming PC from last year. It was mid level, so I'm planning on using a new mobo/AMD CPU with my old parts to build him something better. The parts really aren't worth selling, so I'd rather see him get some enjoyment out...

Quick question about Outpost.com

Is this a good setup for just browsing the internet, downloading some music, and email? It's for my father. He thinks he's a wiz because he knows how to transfer MP3s to his player without help, and send email through Thunderbird. So he doesn't need a million and one features.
