nForce IDE Drivers?

Friend says he has $2500 for a computer...

I'm running an X2 4400+ at stock speeds with the supplied stock HSF. Last week the ambient temp in the room where my system is would have been hovering around 29C. The CPU never reached more than high 30's.

I've also just run the trial version of 3dmark 05 on my rig below. Managed 7399. Comparing with others I think that's about right. At least I know I haven't screwed anything up during the build to affect perfomance. Now where are all those overclocking threads.......

Sluggish DVD drives

Both drives are running in UDMA 2. Is there a problem using a 40 conductor cable on the SEC IDE connector and an 80 conductor cable on the PRI IDE? Only 2 IDE cables were supplied with the motherboard - one of each type.

I also have the same bios 1009 and am running winXP PRO SP2. I'm getting the feeling that I will need to install all the forceware drivers yet the IDE drivers caused me a heap of issues when I tried them. Does anyone have PC Probe II installed without the IDE drivers?

I have noticed some slight backlight bleeding (a bit like an X shape as described around here) )but I did know about the issue so went looking for it. I would say I probably would never have noticed or worried about it had I not known. I have concluded that it's not going to affect me in any way...
