I did find out about this cooler a month or so ago, good to see it's now available in North America. The great thing about the desigh is that if you are like me, my K8N Neo4 Platinum board doesn't allow me much flexibility in chipset coolers since the video card rests above the notrhbridge chip...
I have a Sapphire X800GTO2 unlocked to 16 pipelines and running 540/590. The factory fan/heatsink can't keep the temps down below 60C. My ambiant teps, in my appartment, are not as low as it could be but after 1 hour os so of Battlefield 2 the GPU temps creep up too close to 70C and once or...
I think I've found the most amazing chipset cooler and it's pretty configurable. Check out this link!
Now if I could find where this is sold I'm buying it.

My MSI Neo4 Platinum (7125) is a fantastic board except for one irritating issue, the northbridge fan make way too much noise. It's now the loudest fan in my system(See my sig) Problem is it sits right below the video card so whatever I get to replace it has to be low profile. I'm looking for a...
The beantech looks nice but it comes with fan cutouts only for 80mm units not 120mm.
One question, what is the difference between the Antec TX640 and the Tx635??
Presently I have a Raidmax Scorpio case:

But am looking into something with, at least according to me, better airflow and design.
I have 3 cases in mind:
Antec TX640B
Thermaltake Sporano (I'm tired of case doors but this case is a...
Leave the MX1 on. All the reviews I have read for Freezer showed pretty clearly that the MX1 paste, when used with this cooler ,even when compared to Artic Silver, is superior. I have nothing but good things to say about this cooler.
Like the title says, my neo4 Platinum Motherboard's chipset cooling fan is not the loudest in my system. problem is it sits jut below the PCIeX card so it's not possible to put anything other than a low profile replacement there. Any suggestions???
Got mine last week. I'm in Canada but got it in the U.S.. it was already unlocked and pretested to run stable at PE speeds. Hook this up with either ATI Tool or ATI Tray Tools and your off to the races. This card flys!!!

Personally, I would replace it. Something like the Thermalright XP-90, Thermaltake Big Typhoon, Scythe Ninja, or the Artci Cooling freezer64 Pro will perform much better and be quieter as well. I personally use the artic cooling product and I could not be happier. In particular if you want to...
Befoe I even read your post I reduces the FSB to 285 and now am running much cooler at 2565Mhz and was able to reduce the voltage to 1.5 possibly lower. The extra 55Mhz isn't worth it in, particular with respect to performance & heat. Typing this my cpu is at 35C and when running dual Prime95 it...
HHHmm have my Opteron 165 now at 1.5-1.55V and priming at 290x9 (2610Mhz). Temps could be better under this load (61C) but quickly drop to sub 40c for normal use. This is FX-60 speeds!!!
Just a question regarding overclocking stuff.
I have and Opteron 165 and an MSI neo4 Platinum board. What is the maximum safe sustained voltage i can apply to the cpu?
I presently have it at 1.4V + 6.6% (MSI does it like this) and am 100% stable at 280x9. I'd like to try higher.
Solved the problem. Had to enter in my ram timing values manually. Seeems the bios may be defaulting to values that are too tight when setting the ram divider to 133. Set it to 2.5-3-3-6 1T and all is well. Now I'm at 270 FSB and soon going higher.
Thank you for replying. It seems I may be on to something now, and I have to give your post the push & praise for it. After manually putting in my ram timings and then setting the memory divider to 133 I can now boot reliably into windows with no problemo. my present memory timings are...
Anyone using bios 1.6 (supposed to be one of the better releases) with a dual core opteron? I know it may have an issued with the dual core processors but is anyone using it successfully and if so are there any issues to watch out for??
Got my amazing Opteron 165 in my Neo4 Platinum and seems that if I use any memory divider to overclock other than 200 or 166 the PC won't boot or boots into windows and goes blue screen almost immediately. This has happened with both bios 1.9 & 1B. Any insight.
Presently using the 166 memory...
I apoligize for being vague. This is my system and a description of the problem.
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (Bios 1b)
Opteron 165 (default voltage)
1gig (2x512MB Dual Channel) Platinum Memory (Reported as PDP Systems by CPU-Z)
Seagate 80gig 7200.7 Hard Drive
Liteon DVD-rom drive
BenQ 16x...
Does anyone else have this issue. I'm using an MSI Neo4 Platinum (non-sli) with an Opteron 165 and the 1B bios (Dual core aware bios). Setting my ram speed to 133Mhz (266DDR) and overclockin even a little results in the pc locking up at boot!! It runs 100% right now at 250Ht, ram at 166Mhz (414...
HHHmmm, I'm a little uncomfortable with this even though I do appreciate any reply this thread gets. The whole Idea of bios 1b was to have solid dual core support. When you say not recognized anymore what exactly do you mean? What would I lose from going to bios 1.9??
Now another strange situation has popped up. My audio no longer works. i saw some posts on the MSI forum saying that bios 1b caused a few people to lose audio. Any info would be much appreciated.
Just popped in my new Opteron 165 into my system which includes the following.
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (Bios 1b)
Opteron 165 (default voltage)
1gig (2x512MB Dual Channel) Platinum Memory
Seagate 80gig 7200.7 Hard Drive
Liteon DVD-rom drive
BenQ 16x DVDr
ATI 2meg Rage Pro PCI (!!!)
SilenX...
I have the oppertunity to purchase an MSI Neo4 Platinum (non-sli) but the question remains does this board have stable support for dual core AMD cpu's in particular the Opteron 156 which I have right here in my sweaty little hands?? If so which bios version and what are users experiences with...
