I concur with the above. I've got several Dell and Compaq machines that mount vertically. Diagnol would be the only one that I would worry about but I'd image harddrives are sturdy enough for it.
I've had p1s and 486s that have been massacred I've fixed by a combonation of straightening the pin by hand and using the zif socket to pound them into shape. All worked out pretty well, course an AM2 is much denser pin wise than either of those procs were.
I invested in the 939 platform in March, so my max is 4800+ x2 or whatever is the last opteron made. Personally I will only buy nForce platforms, and I'm just not impressed with how the Intel portion is shaping up. I haven't looked into the AM2 side yet but I'll bet it's a hell of a lot better.
Thats due to the P4 throttling back it's clock rate against the temperature it's running at. The interesting part is how Windows doesn't BSOD when it happens like another CPU did when a similar test was performed. I think it was the P3, BSOD but didn't fry.

My 6600gt gt would write out, as would all my 3DFX cards. None of my ATi cards would though. I always figured it was manufacturer preference wether or not to put up anything.
I think it has something to do with widescreen. My Dell 2405FPW does the exact same thing if I try dual screen. Can't remember if it was with my 6600gt or my X850XT but it's something to do with widescreen.

I'd recommend the XBox route. Very painless, even more convienent than most options available. Or if you wanted something cheaper there are Toshiba DVD players at ~$40 a pop that do everything the XBox does for a least $40 less.

Maybe the loader handles Vista and anything additional on it's own using boot.ini as a reference? I'm not sure, since it apparently didn't modify your boot.ini file you should be good just wiping out the vista loader and throwing the NTLoader back on through XP's install disk.

Yes it does and it always was to my knowledge. I checked it earlier today to see if it was the issue, and it was firmly seated. It's even on its own line not connected to anything else. Not that it does a whole lot of good due to not being dual rail.
